The Japan Expo of 2024 was a vibrant showcase of culture and cuisine. What a blessing that the day was also a sunny π one in Sydney!
Stalls represented lesser-known cities and prefectures in Japan, like Oita, Fukushima, Wakayama and Gifu. Representatives shared about the best parts of their region.
Oita, for example, has wonderful hot springs. Fukushima has beautiful hikes. Nagano Prefecture is known for its soba noodles (these are made from buckeheat).
Arts and craft were on display, with activities like calligraphy, kimono modelling and samurai photography engaging kids and families. "Geishas" are female entertainers who are well trained in conversation, dance, and singing - their artistry was much appreciated and photographed πΈ
On the main stage, the audience listened to travel stories, watched traditional rituals, and clapped to dance performances. At one point, a real fish was prepared, sliced, and offered to the higher power.
Airlines like .japan , and .au promoted exclusive travel packages. Did you know that a complimentary domestic (travel within Japan) flight is included in some of their packages?
The Expo, organised by , went for the large part of a day. It was a rich experience for anyone looking to travel to Japan.
