This weekend’s Watsons Bay tour is packed full of historical intrigue. From horrific shipwrecks to fleeing immigrants to cave houses and wartime panic, Watsons Bay is dripping in history.

The iconic Macquarie Lighthouse is the site of Australia’s oldest lighthouse which was built in 1818 (can be seen in the second photo). The current lighthouse is the 1880 building. The two only stood next to each other for a matter of months until the original was demolished. Not only is it a Sydney landmark but it’s the starting point of our Watsons Bay tour.
