Good Morning Beautiful Friends! 😊
Without any prior discussion, after a lasagne and salad dinner at my son-in-law’s factory last Thursday night, I interviewed my 10 year old grandson, Jonah, about whether the ‘Out of the Blue … inspired guidance for the everyday moments’ Workbook, is appropriate for 10 year olds + as it states on Amazon. For the main book, it’s 12 year olds +.
Me: On amazon.com, do you think it’s appropriate of me to have age categorised the workbook, ‘Out of the Blue … inspired guidance for the everyday moments’ for 10 year olds and upwards?
Jonah: Yes, I do think so! 10 year olds have big problems, as possibly even 5 year olds do (his sister is 5). I know it could be really helpful as I had problems when I was 9. Now, as I look back I wish I could have had this book then (some teasing about why I didn’t publish it last year).
Me: How would you use this book, Jonah?
Jonah: Say I’d come home from school with a problem, I’d probably go to one of the 52 chapters that could guide me, read it and use that practice. And when I had more problems, I’d keep on going in this way (laughter around this being a lifelong pattern).
Me: Jonah, when I asked you earlier how you would use this book, to my surprise you stated the 3 ways I suggest in the preface. You’ve now shared in your last response how you’d use the book when you’re experiencing a certain problem. But, which of the 3 ways of using it, is your favourite?
Jonah: If I just wanted to read the whole book one chapter daily, I personally would randomise it (open the book at any chapter). I think that’s a fun thing to do rather than read it straight through. You could find it’s an emotion you’re going through, someone you know is going through or prepare for something you’re going to face in the future. You need to have faith in yourself and faith in spirit, when you open it randomly like that!
Me: Would it depend on the 10 year old’s ability to read?
Jonah: Probably there’ll be some challenging words in the book but that would help them to extend their ability to read, while they’re helping themselves in their personal life. So they may as well, read to learn, and learn to help themselves in their personal life at the same time.
Me: Is there anything else you want to add JJ?
Jonah: I think it’s a very good and smart idea, and design in writing a book, to have 2 simple pages in each chapter. You’d better pay copyright, Gaga, so that others have to pay you before they use it!
