Burgess Bookings began in 2002, with passionate musicians & music lovers collaborating to create exciting, fun, and inclusive events to keep the live music scene in Australia well and truly alive! Booking and managing events such as local & global band competitions, independent music festivals, general gigs & tours and album launches for independent artists across Australia & New Zealand. The Burg

ess team is comprised of professionals in the music industry who bring together their extensive knowledge and expertise, both behind the scenes and in the spotlight. The company has a great connection with young bands and emerging
Australian talent throughout the country, as well as several decades worth of industry contacts to draw upon. Many of these come through Managing Director, Denny Burgess (of ’60s Australian rock bands The Whispers, Masters Apprentices & The Throb), who has a lengthy history of music business activities. He is Managing Director of A Red Letter Day (Event Management), as well as independent record company Regal Records, and also manages a number of emerging Australian artists through Denny Burgess Management. He is also Chairman of the Australian Songwriters Association, Patron of Association of Artist Managers (AAM) and an Ambassador of Music Oz. Keeping live music alive in Australia is a top priority of this motivated and energetic team. Working together, they are highly successful at event management and enjoy making every show a launch pad for all the talent involved. If you're interested in performing at any of our events, please email [email protected] or [email protected] or call 0412 609 109.

The 2024 Australian Songwriting Contest is NOW OPEN!
Be a part of Australia’s longest running song competition, now in its 44th year, backed by a fantastic group of mighty Sponsors, who’ve ensured a great array of prizes are there for you to win. Once the judging has taken place, the ASA will be excited to honour all Top 10 placegetters at the 2023-24 National Songwriting Awards, where the APRA/ASA Songwriter of the Year will also receive $3,000 cold hard cash!
Please note, if you are keen to get the significant discounts on entry fees that ASA Membership provides, as well as be eligible to win the Maton Guitar which is the Rudy Brandsma Award prize (for members only), then the recommended way to join is to click the blue Become A Member button on the right-hand side of the ASA Home Page at www.asai.org.au , and join prior to going to the Entry Platforms. Although you can join the ASA via those platforms, it is more straight-forward to do it first, and then simply submit your entries on the Entry Platforms as an “existing ASA Member”.
To enter the contest, please click one of the two links below to access an entry platform. Both of these are Australian based, reliable and secure:
