Wait, so I can use Speak With Animals to talk to cats, squirrels, cattle, and pretty much every animal I come across... But it doesn't work on a Miniature Giant Space Hamster?
Fine then, Minsc and Boo. Keep your secrets. I will continue to love you with every fibre of my being. You have never done anything wrong, ever.

A years-in-the-making project takes a nice step forwards...
Seriously, a light pad and magnifying lamp may have been my best investments in quite a while.

It's been a while! Here's north-eastern Cricaea, which forms part of the subcontinent upon which my new campaign takes place. Gone down the Greek route with this map, and it's turned out to be my most detailed yet. Future glimpses to come.

I'm experimenting with my forest skills, and even in this example, working from bottom to top, I can see the improvement. What it seems to come down to is the variety and shape of the trees to break up the neat rows of trees, stacked atop one another like links of maille. What do you think?

As of today TBK has 150 Instagram followers. I has never anticipated just what a vibrant community exists in IG for fantasy mapmakers and cartographers, but it's a constant source of inspiration and the growth of the TBK page is quite an honour.
I'll be taking a page out of a lot of other mapmakers' books, and creating a special little place whose geography reflects this milestone.

Going back to an ongoing project, I'm experimenting with farmland textures and land features. It's lovely to see the white space on the map looking inhabited and developed!

So I've now moved to Australia, and can finally get back to what I love doing. This is the island of Arafette, a tropical island in my world of Velcrea, home to a petty kingdom of Elves and the site of many a failed expedition by would-be colonists.
Aiming to experiment with coastline styles on this map, hence the focus on an island.
Further updates to come!
Also, thank you so much to my 100+ subscribers! A proper celebratory post shall come soon.

By far the most stressful part of nationally and worldbuilding for me is when it comes to names. I have an ever growing database of suitable names, but committing to one is often a process that takes me more time than it should! Please tell me I'm not alone in this?

It's been a long month! Now that things are somewhat stable again, a new job under my belt and a regular schedule re-established, I'm back. Continuing work on this ongoing project, this time on the south western region.

Day out in Historic Lincoln, a city that I have inexplicably never been to before! One visit to the Tourist Information booth, right between the Castle and Cathedral at the summit of Steep Hill, and I come away with THE model of a city map based upon extant medieval foundations.
