🌙👻 Picton After Dark - Private Group Tour: Friday 7/8/26

If you believe the legends…. Picton is said to be Australia’s most haunted town.

From the eerie stillness of St Mark’s Church & Pioneer Cemetery, to the dim glow of Argyle Street, every corner had a story waiting to be told.

We wandered past the Shire Hall Building, the Old Picton Post Office, and the Courthouse, imagining the footsteps of those who walked these street long before us.

Then came the favourites:
- The Viaduct: towering, atmospheric, and full of whispers.
- The Redbank Range Tunnel (Mushroom Tunnel): where the darkness feels just a little too alive.

No jump scares. No theatrics.
Just real Picton history, eerie tales, and a whole lot@pf goosebumps.

Thanks to Kerrie and her mates for bringing curiosity, courage… and maybe a few nervpus laughs.

If you don’t know… now you know!
Introducing Grace Matas - owned and operated by absolute legends Justin and Grace right here in Wedderburn, in the Macarthur region. Another unique, unforgettable agri-tourism experience in the heart of Western Sydney.

Justin and Grace invited me out for a Truffle Hunt (yes… a real truffle hunt!). I arrived to a mouth-watering cheese toastie with shaved truffle on the deck overlooking their stunning farm - and it only got better from there.

We headed out with Bonnie & Jett, the superstar truffle dogs, for a hands-on hunt. We did the digging…. They did the sniffing. And because truffles are culinary black diamonds, we couldn’t be too greedy! After the hunt, we cleaned up the truffles and chatted all things farm history, how truffles grow, and how they’re shared locally and through wholesale.

I left with a huge smile, a full heart, and a deep appreciation for two people who truly live and breathe doing something they love.

A few weeks back we had an awesome day showing Mr Harry Tran (CEO of Australia-Vietnam Trade and Investment Promotion) and his lovely family around on our Funky Fungi Tour 🍄‍🟫🍄

Together with Peter & Leonie from FungiCo - we explored the magical world of mushrooms, wandered through the historic rail tunnel, and uncovered some truely quirky and cool colonial history - all hidden away in the beautiful Southern Highlands.

We’ve been lucky to join AVTIP on a number of famil trips to Vietnam 🇻🇳 - But this day was about sharing the incredible experiences we’re proud to offer right here at home.

The energy was incredible - a true showcase of what’s possible when passionate operators, councils, and industry leaders come together with a shared vision for growing our region’s visitor economy.

Being a part of the places us in an organisation with like-minded enthusiastic operators who are committed to advocating for Western Sydney and driving meaningful collaboration across our tourism landscape. Events like this reinforce just how powerful those partnerships can be.
