Rewind a few weeks, we posted about our friend Aaron Mpc and his endeavour to complete the 6633 Arctic Ultra .

That is, to race – as the only Australian participant – for 620km in -50° temperatures in the Canadian Arctic, running on perseverance and very little sleep.

🥳 Freely is excited to share that Aaron is the winner of the 6633 Arctic Ultra 2025 after crossing the line first!

As a proud supporter of Aaron, we can’t overstate how much his story has inspired us. Aaron’s win is not only a reminder that you can do anything you put your mind to (with enough training 😅) – but that wild adventures wait for those who search for them.

Congratulations, Aaron – you’re a champion.

Freely loves adventure – but our friend Aaron Crook takes it to another level.

In a few days, Aaron will be among 11 people competing in the toughest, coldest and windiest race on earth, the 6633 Arctic Ultra in Canada.

When we learnt that Aaron would haul a sled over 620km alone in –50° temperatures for up to nine days to test his own endurance, we were pretty amazed.

But when we learnt he’s also doing it to raise funds for kids’ mental health via Parachute, we thought: we want to back this guy.

Freely is proud to support Aaron Crook as the only Australian participant in this year’s 6633 Arctic Ultra. All the best, Aaron – see you on the other side! 💪

As we begin reflecting on 2024, we feel especially proud about our partnership with the Z Zurich Foundation on SURFAID's Make A Wave Challenge in September.

We’re thrilled to share that Freely and the Z Zurich Foundation were able to generate over AUD $210,000 in donations to the campaign!

We achieved this by:

👉 Incentivising Australian fundraisers to reach $100+ by rewarding them with a Make A Wave x Freely rashie, while the Z Zurich Foundation committed to matching the first $100 that they raised; and

👉 Raising funds through our own Team Freely, which were generously matched 100% by the Z Zurich Foundation.

The challenge overall raised over AUD $677,000, which will power the delivery of SurfAid’s nutrition and clean water programs on the Indonesian island of Rote, including the training of 31 health professionals, 220 community health volunteers and 44 community-based mobilisers. This will positively impact 1,991 families in Rote.

A huge thank you to everyone who supported the campaign, to SURFAID for the opportunity to be part of it, and to the Z Zurich Foundation for amplifying our impact in a big way.
