A Whitsunday Luxury Sailing Holiday Expedition voyages hosted by owner with 30 years experience & guided by your own Master Reef Guide.

The Great Barrier Reef Marine Park, which stretches some 2,000 kilometres along the Queensland coast, includes more than 2,900 coral reefs, 900 tropical islands and is home to over 1,500 species of fish, 400 species of coral, as well as many other rare and endangered species. It is the only natural structure on earth that is visible from the moon with a naked eye, and is simply the most amazing lo

cation where you can sail on sheltered waterways, visiting exotic anchorages to experience the wonders of nature both above and below the water. Your professional guides to this remarkable location & friendly crew are John & Lynne Boyce who welcome you to their “floating home”, their magnificent, multi award winning yacht Sydney Sundancer. For more than 25 years they have, personally introduced their guests to places of rare natural beauty on deserted islands, in the inter-tidal zone & under the water. On Island bushwalking expeditions guests can appreciate much of the Australian wilderness experience, including Aboriginal caves complete with ancient paintings. At low tide, Lynne will guide you on fascinating expeditions on the drying reef. Her 30 years experience of conchology, enables guests appreciate the wonders of nature in this little seen world, as she identifies the cleverly disguised reef dwellers. John & Lynne will lead scuba (certified divers only) or snorkeling expeditions to ensure your experience of this “water wonderland” is complete. Non-swimmers need not feel disadvantaged because their glass bottomed dive tender, aptly named “The Sundance Kid” will ensure non swimmers appreciation of the underwater world also ! If guests have no previous snorkeling experience, Lynne will patiently instruct and even hold their hand to give them confidence if needed, whilst John will be nearby in the tender. They even have an underwater digital camera, so guests can view themselves enjoying the days activities on the yachts’ wide screen television. Each evening John will anchor Sydney Sundancer in a different bay, so calm that your long stemmed wine glasses are safe on the dining room table, while Lynne prepares such exotic delicacies that the definitive American food & wine guide “Bon Appetit” has requested one of her recipes for publication in the USA! You can be assured that each meal will exceed your expectation and surpass much of what is served in well known Sydney restaurants. In the morning you can go snorkelling over beautiful corals before breakfast and your day just gets better from there. You can even take the wheel to enjoy real “big boat” sailing, harnessing the wind for propulsion, rest assured that John’s intimate knowledge of the area will keep you safe. He and Lynne were chartering even before the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority began issuing permits to operate, so their permit is one of the few “originals” which still allows access to some pristine places that most other charter boats are prohibited from visiting. John & Lynne prefer to conduct their voyages of discovery during the warm dry months of July through October because the prevailing winds at that time mean the best locations for snorkelling and scuba diving are accessible. Humpback Whales migrate to the area during these months to give birth to their young, so you have a very high chance of a close encounter with these “Giants” of the sea ! You can even listen to these wonderful creatures communicate via the ships hydrophone. Lynne and John’s intimate knowledge of the area and years of experience ensure your satisfaction is guaranteed and that your hopes and expectations for your holiday of a lifetime are exceeded !

https://youtu.be/P7o0IHvU7Fw Memories of Blue Pearl Bay Hayman Island in 2015 prior to Cyclone Debbie in March 2027. Thankfully due to the care and dedication of the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority, Master Reef Guides and local tour boat operators, who have been coral gardening and replanting coral fragment plus natures annual coral spawning it is now on the way to its' former glory. I salute the power of nature and all those passionate enough to dedicate their time to restore this bay.

As we are just about to begin our 4 month season in the Whitsunday's, we are so looking forward to all the adventures that our guests and John and I are about to experience. This video was filmed a few years back by a guest on his iPhone (still images were taken by myself) as we were returning from a few days out at Bait Reef to the islands. The number of Humpback Whales have never been greater, as is the love and interest towards them from the public. This coming Friday at Airlie Beach the town will be celebrating their arrival at the "Welcome Whales Festival" https://youtu.be/3EapNXvdPCw Click on this link to find out how you too can have amazing experiences in the Whitsunday's with Whitsunday Luxury Sailing Holidays: www.whitsundayluxurysailing.com.au PS There is talk that this season there are a large number of Manta Rays visiting. This image below I took a couple of years ago, and because it was not on Project Manta's data base I got to name him Reef Dancer. I'm hoping for a reunion this season! Can't wait!!!
