This historic route once connected Kyoto and Tokyo, passing through the mountains and a series of traditional post towns.

Today, you can walk sections of those old paths through beautiful forest,
stepping back in time as you wander through beautifully preserved streets, temples and villages that echo Japan’s Edo-era past
