Boulders Beach, near Cape Town, is a popular spot where visitors can get a close-up view of these critically endangered Jackass penguins in their natural habitat. It’s one of the few places where you can see them up close on land.

Day 2 - Let The Adventure Begin with Jeep Tours Cape Town in open top Jeep Wranglers exploring the Cape Peninsula. First stop Boulders to visit the Jackass Penguin Colony waddling around on the beach. Then it's off to spectacular Cape Point Vineyards for a wine tasting and lunch with million rand views, award winning wine paired with delectable canapes. Definitely a great place to spend an afternoon picnicking and savouring a glass or two of beautiful wine. With the top down we drove along Chapmans Peak drive and its awe-inspiring views to Hout Bay. We visited Cellars Hohenort, a Small Luxury Hotel in the Constantia Valley, a short 15 minute drive from Cape Town, for a glass of Groot Constantia champagne with canapes. Heading back to Cape Town's V &A Waterfront we met for a site inspection of Commodore Hotel and Portswood Hotel before exploring The Watershed and Time Out. This vibrant craft and design space alongside a foodie haven allows visitors to see the best of Cape Towns chefs and artisans. Dinner this evening was at the exquisite Upper Union Restaurant.

Day 1 of Mega Lekker Fam South Africa 2025 was off to a great start with perfect weather in Cape Town. The city sparkled and Table Mountain turned out in all her glory. After a visit to Bo Kaap, the Company Gardens and many other city sights we then learnt about South African diamonds at Diamond Works. Our accommodation was the beautiful More Quarters and dinner tonight was at Kloof St House, which never disappoints.

Our final day in Tanzania travelling from Tarangire to Arusha with a short stop for lunch at Hamerkop House by Lemala before our Kenya Airways flight to Nairobi. are incredible and well located to showcase all Tanzania has to offer, regardless of the season you are travelling in.

Leaving Ngorongoro we continued south to the lush wildlife haven of Tarangire National Park. We passed Lake Manyara and the village of Mto Wa Mbu as well as many small villages and Maasai Manyattas. Tarangire known for it's elephants and majestic baobab trees, did not disappoint. After an unforgettable afternoon of wildlife viewing we arrived at the spectacular Lemala Mpingo Ridge Lodge. Wow! The views were spectacular and the rooms super spacious with outside shower and deck offering a bath with a view! Definitely allow at least a 2 night stop in this spectacular location with outstanding food.

An exhilarating day on safari in the Serengeti (Seronera) where each twist and turn offered majestic wildlife. Lunch and site inspection of Lemala Ewanjan. The short rain season provided us with a stunning green backdrop and less crowds. Highly recommend it.

Our 2nd day in the Serengeti started with an incredible balloon safari by Serengeti Balloon Safaris, recently awarded the highest accolade of the World's Leading Balloon Ride Operator. A truly amazing experience and one not to be missed. It was beautiful to see the vastness of the Serengeti from above and quite a bit of wildlife but an SLR with a decent lens is required for good photos. We celebrated the successful flight with a delicious champagne brunch.

Now my Tanzania adventure begins with a flight on Precision Air from Nairobi to Kilimanjaro then Auric Air from Arusha to Seronera in the Serengeti. Upon arrival we were met by our guide from Nanyukie for a game drive through the Serengeti to the lodge for a 2 night stay. Wow, this tented lodge is spectacularly set on a grassy savannah with rocky kopjes and outstanding views. This area of the Serengeti is home to the thrilling wildlife spectacle of the annual wildebeest migration but has a high density of wildlife, allowing for excellent game viewing all year round. Our amazing first day ended with sundowners under an Acacia tree, like only Africa can do. G&T's always taste much better in the African bush!

Spent a couple of days catching up with our existing East Africa product suppliers, meeting new suppliers and learning a whole lot about Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda and Rwanda. What a great event with the opening at Nairobi Kitchen and Matatu transport to the conference. Stayed in beautiful accommodation at Kwetu Curio Collection. So nice to see how much Nairobi has changed and the high standard of accommodation that is now available.

Well, I had a quick break in Melbourne after Morocco and now in Nairobi for a Travel Trade Conference but I arrived a day earlier to help with jet-lag and thought I would take the opportunity to see some of what is on offer in Nairobi. I spent the day in Karen. First stop was the Giraffe Centre. Our ground handler has our clients there when the gates open to ensure your experience is away from the crowds. You have a private guide so you learn as much as possible about Rothschild giraffes and the conservation and education efforts they are making to change mind-sets. Next stop was the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust for elephants, best known for its Orphans Project, the first and most successful elephant orphan rescue and rehabilitation program in the world. Then I enjoyed a beautiful lunch at Karen Blixen Coffee Garden and Cottages before visiting the Karen Blixen Museum, who gained international acclaim with the release of the movie 'Out of Africa'. Highly recommend accommodation at Tamarind Tree Hotel or Karen Blixen Cottages.
