Israel Iran Conflict - Must Read

We are sure that you are aware of the current situation in the Middle East which has resulted in overnight closure of some air spaces and some flights having to be diverted.

Fortunately and thankfully, this morning we note an improvement in that a cease fire has been agreed and that there has been are opening of some air spaces and diverted flights have started to recommence their journeys.

MTA Head continues to monitor what is happening in the Middle East and we maintain a view similar to The Australian Travel Industry Association (ATIA) who are urging Australians to stay calm amid the unfolding Middle East situation. They expect that Australian travellers can continue to expect delays and should follow official travel advice.

ATIA CEO Dean Long reminds us that, “Australians flying to Europe via the Middle East should be prepared for some delays, but it’s important to know that global airlines have systems in place to manage these disruptions.
The closure of airspace is not new. Airlines have been rerouting around Russia and Ukraine for more than two years, and are now adjusting again. The airlines that fly to Australia have world-leading safety protocols and route management”.
“Travellers shouldn’t panic or cancel unnecessarily.
