The Langmeil Winery is an iconic South Australian family owned winery. They are the custodians of the Freedom Shiraz Vineyard planted in 1843. Check out this exciting initiative and more importantly log in and vote for them.

Exciting news from Langmeil Winery β€” we've been shortlisted in The Old Vine Conference Competition 2026 , in the 'Landscape & Plants' category.

The shortlisted image features our Barossa Ancestor vine β€” the Freedom 1843 Shiraz, photographed by Dragan Fine Art Photography. Planted in 1843, these vines are 183 years old and still producing fruit today, making them what we believe to be the world's oldest surviving Shiraz vineyard.

Nearly 300 entries were received from 18 countries across four continents, making this shortlisting a proud moment for the Langmeil team and for the Barossa.

Public voting is now open until 8 July, with winners announced on Old Vine Day: 15 July 2026. We'd love your support β€” head to the link below to cast your vote and read more about the competition.

Lunch is included and it looks like this🍷

A regional platter of local meats, fresh breads, cheeses and all the good stuff, enjoyed right here at Turkey Flat Vineyards with a glass of something special in hand.

Not a bad way to spend a day in the Barossa.
