The relief I had at 5:30am this morning watching my clients plane leave Qatar!! 🤗
I bet my relief was nothing compared to theirs!! They had been awake for over 40 hours by the time this delayed yet again flight to Australia finally departed!!! 😨
After a hellish 28hours stuck in the airport and multiple flight cancellations and delay after delay, they finally got out on a flight to Sydney!! It was a huge relief to watch them finally get on their way home!!

The entire flying world was thrown into disarray after just a 2 hour closure of the airspace over Qatar & Dubai! (With good reason) but the flow on effect was unprecedented, with flights diverted all over the world en-route to Europe during the closure. Flights cancelled from Australia to Europe also!!

If you have flights leaving in the next 2 weeks especially, keep in mind that there will be delays as aircraft & passengers still stranded around the world finally make their connections. ✈️

Why use a travel agent?

Well today some clients of mine found out just how valuable having me in their back pocket can be!!
Flight scheduled at 6am Melb to Sydney (clients choice rather then flying out last night to Syd)
That flight cancelled.
New flight booked for 6:30am
Hoping that was the end of their delays!!
But no, this plane had engine trouble and they sat on the tarmac for over an hour - finally got in the air and made it to Sydney but now far to late to make their connecting international flight!!
They were flustered from running & busing between terminals, trying to make their connecting flight!!
The Airline said you won’t make it and gives them new boarding passes, with a code-share partner that’s going way out of the way and will get them into their destination after their next flight leaves (not a connecting flight but they had over 24 hours between flights - this would usually be enough time).
I rang the clients and I picked up straight away that this new flight will not work with their itinerary and I found a different flight that will get them there in time! They showed the airline my message & now have seats on the best flight available!! I’ve called their hotel to explain the situation and explained their late arrival. Only a few hours late rather than over 24 hours late!!

If they hadn’t used a travel agent, they would need to pick up these things themselves and fix them themselves.
When would they have realised the new flights were no good? When you’re stressed you cant see things clearly!!!

This is one great example of how I’m here for you if things go haywire - things completely out of your control!! I’m in your corner!!! I know your itinerary and that is worth its weight in gold!!

My clients are thanking their lucky stars that I’m here for them today!!!

So if you’re wondering if it’s worth it using a travel agent in the internet age - the answer should always be yes!!! If things run seamlessly that’s great, if not - I got you!!! 💪🏻
