Thank you so much to Siblings Australia for the opportunity to contribute to this important conversation.
I really value being able to share practical travel planning considerations for families and siblings who are often balancing so many needs behind the scenes.
Travel does not have to be all-or-nothing. With thoughtful pacing, preparation and the right supports, it can become something families feel more confident to approach.
If travel has felt overwhelming for your family, I hope this blog offers a helpful place to start.
As siblings, we often become planners, problem-solvers and quiet coordinators behind the scenes - especially as our brother or sister’s needs change over time.
Travel can bring excitement, but also a lot of questions:
✈️ Is it manageable?
🧳 What supports need to be considered?
🌏 How do you balance routines, environments and expectations?
That’s why we partnered with travel advisor Jade from Connected Travel - Jade Sharp, who specialises in complex family travel, to explore some of the practical ways families and siblings can approach travel planning.
Our latest blog looks at the importance of pacing, preparation and creating experiences that work for everyone involved - while also reminding siblings that they do not have to navigate it all alone.
Because sometimes hearing from others who truly understand can make the journey feel a little less overwhelming.
