Always visiting our bush block is the nationally endangered Glossy Black cockatoo! They feed almost exclusively on the seeds of Sheoaks, and here at our place, they love the Black Sheoak (Allocausaurina litorallis).

Everyone who knows me, knows how much I love Zebs! They are just awesome birds. True nomads surviving the drier regions of Australia as well as coastal areas and the tropics. Having the widest distribution of any Australian finch, there highly nomadic nature has probably the reason why no subspecies occur on mainland Australia.

The Mistletoebird is an extremely specialist species. Often high in the canopy, they are always difficult to photograph but I was lucky when this female came down low to check out a flowering mistletoe only a few metres away.

The spectacular Nicobar Pigeon!

This species can be found on small islands and in coastal regions from the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, India, east through the Indonesian Archipelago, to the Solomons and Palau. It is the only living member of the genus Caloenas alongside the extinct spotted green pigeon and Kanaka pigeon, and is the closest living relative of the extinct dodo.
