Impossibly blue waters under impossibly blue skies 🙌🏼💙

This spot can apparently get mad rough in wild weather, but we caught it calm as a cucumber. Roasted our tooshies on these rocks for a while before going in for a snorkel (which was incredible btw 🤿) @ Canal Rocks

Summer has finally arrived down here and we couldn’t be more stoked to not be freezing anymore.
For a couple of native Victorians we have definitely turned into total cold weather wusses. 🤣❄️

WHAT DREAMS ARE MADE OF.✨🙌🏼
That’s the only fitting way to describe this incredible moment we had whilst snorkelling recently in Coral Bay, . 💙
For a few minutes we got to share the water with not just 1, but 5 giant manta rays, each following one another in a mating chain. 😱
It was a sight so beautiful it literally took your breath away,
and one we won’t ever forget for the rest of our days.

The scent of coconut sunscreen, coffee beans and the ocean - ⁣To us, there’s nothing better in the whole world.🌴☕️🌊⁣

JOURNEY INTO THE DEEP... 🌊🤿⁣
Whooo we are now Open Water divers! 👏🏻(And apologies in advance for the potato res on some of the clips 👆🏼🤣) ⁣

Learning to dive was something that’d been on our bucket list for as long as we can remember;⁣
“One day we’ll give it a go. We’ll do our Open Water course... One day we will...” ⁣
So whilst we were in Exmouth (a region famous for its ties to the ocean) we decided that we’d procrastinated long enough and despite our nerves and the costs “One day” was going to be today. 😊⁣
And it was wonderful. And terrifying. And breathtaking. And everything and nothing like we’d imagined. 🙌🏼⁣
It really is an entirely different world down there, with a magic all of its own. 🦈⁣

We can’t say every moment of the learning experience was easy, because it definitely wasn’t. ⁣
But we went for it and now we’re qualified divers (yahoo!!) and that makes us ridiculously proud. 😁⁣

Slow, sleepy sunrises are truly one of the best things in life. 🌅 ⁣
Maybe it’s to do with the changing seasons, but we’ve been naturally waking up earlier and earlier these last few weeks, sometimes beating the sun out of bed. 🌥⁣
And we don’t really mind. ☺️⁣
There’s something so lovely about the stillness of the early morning, when the world is still asleep. ⁣
And we’re pretty lucky: our favourite cafe is nearly always open for business no matter the hour. 😉🚐☕️⁣

It may not be in the South Pacific, but it could definitely pass for it: ⁣
Sandy Bay, our favourite beach in Western Australia to date (maybe even in the whole country) 💙⁣

FOREVER CHASING STORIES TO TELL WHEN WE’RE OLD... 😊⁣

In a fit of “let’s get more out of our day” spirits, we set our alarms for 5am this morning and managed to drag our butts out of bed and out to the beach to catch the sunrise. 🌅⁣
Turns out nothing wakes you up better than running up and down big-arse sand dunes like a couple of 5 year olds on red cordial; ⁣
Clearly we’ve got that whole adulting thing down pat. 😂⁣

What’s tiny, grey, sort of floppy and absolutely adorable? 🥰⁣
A baby Humpback whale, that’s what! ⁣

We’d pulled over to check out the beach and on a whim decided to send the drone up. ⁣At first we thought the dark shadow in the water was a lone whale resting in the shallows. ⁣
But then something stirred and... ⁣
Pop! An itty bitty whale calf emerged. ⁣
I think our hearts may have exploded from the sheer cuteness of it.😆⁣

Baby humpies tend to be lighter in colour and are often pretty uncoordinated when new - this one was flopping all over the place like it’s fins were too big for its body. 🤣

We watched mama and bub frolic in the blues of Ninagloo for about 20 minutes all up, and it was pure magic. ✨

So after 2 1/2 years of vanliving, ⁣
last night it finally happened: ⁣
We were happily cooking dinner when a big, fat, huntsman crawled out from behind the TV and down the wall in front of us. 🕷⁣
Until now we’ve always had them outside, but never INSIDE the van itself. ⁣
Insert silent scream here...😱⁣
⁣
I’ll admit I jumped onto the bed and hid under the doona (waaaay down the other end of the van) and didn’t emerge until Gary had dealt with the intruder. ⁣
And then barely slept a wink last night imagining it had heaps and heaps of friends. 🙈 Ughhh NOT fun at all. ⁣
