Fly Fishing Buna

Over the weekend, we had the pleasure of welcoming Pike — for those who don’t know, Zdenko Brebrić, better known as Pike, was the 2021 Serbian Fly Fishing Champion and a long-time member of the Serbian national team.
On the challenging waters of the Buna River, under scorching Mostar summer heat, Pike demonstrated impressive skill and deep knowledge in mastering wild soft-mouth trout — a fish both powerful on the rod and notoriously difficult to catch. It was his first encounter with this rare and ancient trout, and he was truly amazed by its strength and beauty.

Beyond his talent as an angler, Pike proved to be an exceptional person — always ready for a laugh, good company, and a party.

These are just a few moments from his visit, and of course, every fish was safely returned to the water.

Vilin konjic (lat. Libellula depressa) - Presvlačenje

Vilin konjic je opšti naziv za leteće insekte koji pripadaju redu Odonata. Ime su dobili po grčkoj riječi „odontos” — zub, jer su im obje vilice nazubljene. Životni ciklus im je bitno vezan za vodu, jer larve žive u vodi. Međutim, ljudske aktivnosti dovode do masovnog uništavanja ekosistema kopnenih stajaćih voda. Kao posledica toga značajan broj vrsta vilinih konjica je veoma ugrožen, a u poslednje vrijeme, kod preostalih vrsta se uočava stalni pad brojnosti.

We poured our passion into tying the perfect flies for him, and after patience and determination, his dream came true. Rey held his trophy in his hands at last. What a moment! Prvi put mušičarski mlat u ruci, nekoliko zabacaja, i prve dvije ribe ulovljene ovim priborom – i naravno, vraćene u vodu. Trenuci koje će ovaj dječak pamtiti cijelog života, a meni je neopisivo drago što sam bio dio njih. Bravo, Ademe, i dobrodošao u svijet mušičarenja! 🐟🎣
