A man employed at the Electricity and Water Authority for 13 years has been sentenced to 10 years in prison after it was discovered he used a forged bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
The fake degree, unaccredited and unrecognized abroad, was initially authenticated by an unaware Authority employee. Hired in 2010, he repeatedly renewed his contract using fraudulent qualifications. Investigations confirmed the deception with foreign officials, revealing deliberate use of forged documents to secure employment.
The High Criminal Court convicted him of document forgery, highlighting the serious legal consequences of falsifying educational credentials.
