হেরিটেজ ওয়াক ঢাকা: স্মৃতির পাতা থেকে যৌথ পথচলা
'হেরিটেজ ওয়াক ঢাকা' কেবল একটি উদ্যোগ নয়; এটি আমাদের দুজনের যৌথ স্বপ্ন, ভালোবাসা এবং শত শত গল্প ও পরিশ্রমের ফসল।
এই পেছনের গল্পের হিসাব কষে শেষ করা যাবে না। স্টার হোটেলের কোণায় নির্দিষ্ট সেই টেবিলে বসে কত শত ঘণ্টা যে আড্ডায় কেটেছে, তার কোনো ইয়ত্তা নেই! একসময় আমরা ৯০০ কাপ চা খাওয়ার হিসাব রেখেছিলাম, তারপরের আর কোনো হিসাব নেই। শীতের আমেজ, বর্ষার রিমঝিম, গ্রীষ্মের দাবদাহ কিংবা রাজনীতির উত্তপ্ত দিন, কোনো কিছুই আমাদের আলোচনা আর পরিকল্পনাকে থামিয়ে রাখতে পারেনি।
কত পথ আমরা হেঁটেছি দুজন একসাথে! আমার আর রুবেল শাহ্ (Ahmed Abu) ভাইয়ের জমানো এমন হাজারো গল্প ছড়িয়ে আছে এই শহরের অলিতে-গলিতে। তবে হেরিটেজের পেছনের এই মানুষটি বরাবরই নিজেকে আড়ালে রাখতে পছন্দ করেছেন। আজ তিনি অনেক দিন হলো দেশের বাইরে...
আমাদের এই পথচলায় বিষাদের গল্পও কম নেই, তবে সেগুলো আমরা আর প্রকাশ না-ই বা করলাম। সহযোগিতা যেমন পেয়েছি, তেমনি ভীষণ অসহযোগিতাও পেয়েছি; সেসব কথা নাইবা বললাম, তা শুধুই আমাদের দুজনের মধ্যে গোপন স্মৃতি হয়ে থাকুক।
তবে হেরিটেজ ওয়াক ঢাকা কেবল কোনো হাঁটার আয়োজন নয়; এর পেছনে রয়েছে আমাদের এক গভীর শিক্ষামূলক ও গবেষণাধর্মী উদ্দেশ্য। ঢাকার অলিগলি, প্রতিটি পুরোনো ইটের ভাঁজে লুকিয়ে থাকা ইতিহাস এবং কালজয়ী গল্পগুলোকে ধরে রাখা, নথিভুক্ত করা এবং আপনাদের স্মরণে ফিরিয়ে আনাই আমাদের মূল ব্রত, যাতে সময়ের স্রোতে এই অমূল্য স্মৃতিগুলো কখনো হারিয়ে না যায়।
রুবেল শাহ্ ভাইয়ের ভাবনার পরিধিটা বড্ড বড়! তিনি স্বপ্ন দেখেন, নানান প্রান্ত থেকে মানুষ আসবে কাঁদা মাটির এই দেশে। আতিথেয়তা নেবে, স্বাদ নেবে নানান অঞ্চলের রান্না করা দেশীয় খাবারের এবং দেশীয় নানান ফলের, আর হারিয়ে যাবে এ দেশের চিরচেনা বৃষ্টির ভালোবাসায়। এমন আরও কত শত অনন্য ভাবনায় তিনি সমৃদ্ধ করেছেন হেরিটেজকে।
হেরিটেজ ওয়াক ঢাকা আজ এক দশকের এক পরিণত মোড়ে এসে দাঁড়িয়েছে। এই বিশেষ মুহূর্তে আমরা, সজীব এবংরুবেল শাহ্ (Ahmed Abu), হেরিটেজের সহ-প্রতিষ্ঠাতা (Co-Founders), শুরু থেকেই কাঁধে কাঁধ মিলিয়ে এই উদ্যোগটিকে গড়ে তুলেছি এবং ভবিষ্যতেও একই নিষ্ঠা ও ভালোবাসা নিয়ে এগিয়ে নিয়ে যাব।
আপনাদের ভালোবাসা, আস্থা এবং নিরবচ্ছিন্ন সহযোগিতাই আমাদের সামনে এগিয়ে যাওয়ার সবচেয়ে বড় অনুপ্রেরণা।

'Heritage Walk Dhaka' is not just an initiative; it is a shared dream, a labor of love, and the fruit of countless stories and hard work between the two of us.
The stories behind this journey are simply beyond count. Sitting at our fixed table in the corner of Star Hotel, we spent endless hours in conversation! At one point, we kept track until we hit 900 cups of tea, after that, we lost count entirely. Neither the chill of winter, the rhythmic pitter-patter of monsoon rain, the scorching summer heat, nor the tension of turbulent political days could ever stall our discussions and plans.
What a journey we've walked together! Thousands of memories gathered by Rubel Bhai (Ahmed Abu) and me lie scattered across the nooks and crannies of this city. Yet, the person behind Heritage has always preferred to stay out of the spotlight. Today, he has been abroad for quite some time...
Our journey has had its share of heartbreaks too, but we choose not to dwell on them. Just as we received support, we also faced immense non-cooperation; let us leave those unspoken, keeping them as quiet memories strictly between the two of us.
However, Heritage Walk Dhaka is far more than just a walking event. At its core lies a deep educational and research-driven purpose. Our primary mission is to capture, document, and bring back to your memory the history and timeless stories hidden within the alleys and every aged brick of Dhaka, so these priceless memories are never lost to the sands of time.
Rubel Bhai's vision is vast! He dreams of people arriving from all corners of the world to this fertile land. They will experience our hospitality, savor regional home-cooked delicacies alongside local seasonal fruits, and lose themselves in the comforting embrace of our familiar rains. He has enriched Heritage with hundreds of such unique ideas.
Today, Heritage Walk Dhaka stands at a mature milestone of a decade. At this special moment, we, Shajib and Abu, Co-Founders of Heritage, have built this initiative shoulder to shoulder from the very beginning, and we will continue to drive it forward with the same dedication and passion in the days ahead.
