• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Solid understanding of programming fundamentals, object-oriented programming (OOP), and core data structures and algorithms.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with C #, .NET, Python, Go, Angular, MongoDB, RabbitMQ, Redis, and microservices architecture is a plus.
• Familiarity with machine learning, data science, artificial intelligence (AI), or prompt engineering is an added advantage.
• Good communication and collaboration skills, with a willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.

We are seeking a passionate, meticulous and self-driven Associate Software Quality Assurance (SQA) Engineer to join our team at Orbitax. As an Associate SQA Engineer, you will be the backbone of our operation, combining development and operation skills to streamline and accelerate the software development lifecycle (SDLC). And you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products.

𝐉𝐨𝐛 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬 :
• Understanding business domain use cases.
• Collaborate diligently with Product Development Manager, Quality Assurance Engineer & Software Developer, Business Implementation teams in instrumenting their workflow to build a comprehensive picture of velocity, coverage and quality.
• Understand product requirements and ensure comprehensive test coverage.
• Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts to validate software functionality, usability, performance, and compatibility across different platforms.
• Automating repeated tasks and writing automated test scripts using different test frameworks like Cypress, Playwright, JMeter, Postman etc.
• Contribute to continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
• Analyzing bugs & errors, investigating and reporting root causes.
• Preparing the status report and regularly updating the progress of self-testing activities.
• Estimating, prioritizing, planning and coordinating quality testing activities.
• Managing feature documentation, troubleshooting FAQs and finding defects using different software tools.
• Document and track defects through to resolution, utilizing industry-standard defect tracking tools.
• Participate actively in agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of QA processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
• Learn & assist in the preparation and verification of international tax research and publication materials, including international tax forms and Country-by-Country (CbC) agreement documentation.

• Assist with researching international tax domain

• From creation till closure, proactively, timely and diligently manage ticket lifecycle by coordinating with Domains, QA and PDMs.

• Undergraduate degree in business or engineering. Major in accounting/finance/computer science or software engineering preferred.

• Strong communication & presentation skills including confidence when communicating with external parties (Domains, clients, and partners of Orbitax)
• Project management skills – including documentation, scheduling, note taking and proactive follow through
• Must be very analytical & have a problem solving mindset
• Interest in / ability to learn accounting and tax technical topics and processes
• Initiative / self starter attitude – ability to complete tasks with remote supervision (domain lead will not be available during Dhaka business hours typically)
• Must be tech savvy

A Business Implementation and Research Associate (BIRA) acts as a liaison between Clients, International Domain Experts and Product Development Managers to aid with business related tasks as well as product development and maintenance to some degree.

𝟮. 𝑾𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒅𝒐𝒆𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑹𝒆𝒔𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒄𝒉 𝒑𝒂𝒓𝒕 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑱𝒐𝒃 𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒂𝒊𝒍?
As a tax technology company, we have to stay updated on the most recent developments in the International Tax world. As part of the research conducted by BIRT, you may have to source Tax forms of different countries, filing requirements, understand the logic behind XML forms of said countries, tax laws if needed and some other forms of research. The research tasks may or may not be assigned to you based on which team you are assigned to and the frequency will vary depending on the same factors.

A BIRA is responsible for all business related activities that come in a software company such as Orbitax, it covers a wide range of activities as detailed in the job description but tasks are allocated according to assigned tools and teams. After training is completed, you will be assigned to different products and sub-teams within the department and will be responsible for the tasks of said product/teams.

As you will be in the business team it is pertinent that you understand the business use-cases and logic of the software. You will not be expected to carry out technical testing of the software, but test it from a user’s perspective and test the platform how an end user would use it.
On the other hand, with adept knowledge of the software over time, you will also be able to identify obvious bugs and will be expected to get any bugs/issues faced reported; the QA team would then take over and verify it.
