Very Informative
Punctuality remains a prized commodity in air travel — and in May 2025, Garuda Indonesia soared above the rest as the most on-time airline in Southeast Asia. According to the latest data from OAG, Garuda achieved a stellar 98.39% on-time performance, securing not just regional leadership but also clinching the #1 global rank.
Trailing behind, but still commendably punctual, was Philippine Airlines with an 86.67% on-time rate, placing it 18th worldwide. Indonesia’s Citilink followed in third for the region, clocking an 83.96% punctuality rate and ranking 31st globally.
Other notable Southeast Asian performers include:
🇮🇩 Garuda Indonesia — 98.39% (World Rank 1)
🇵🇭 Philippine Airlines — 86.67% (World Rank 18)
🇮🇩 Citilink — 83.96% (World Rank 31)
🇸🇬 Jetstar Asia — 83.05% (World Rank 37)
🇲🇾 AirAsia — 79.19% (World Rank 56)
🇲🇾 Malaysia Airlines — 76.54% (World Rank 73)
🇻🇳 Vietnam Airlines — 69.96% (World Rank 100)
Garuda’s dominance reflects a consistent effort to rebuild its reputation after a turbulent decade, while the strong showings from Philippine Airlines and Citilink underscore growing competition in the region’s aviation sector.
With travelers increasingly valuing reliability and efficiency, punctuality metrics like these offer an important benchmark for airline performance. Southeast Asia’s skies are clearly competitive — but for now, Garuda Indonesia is flying far ahead of the pack.
