MEET YOUR TOUR GUIDES

For Katy, coffee is more than just what’s in the cup—it’s about the conversations, connections, and moments shared around the table. Coffee has always been at the heart of these kinds of moments in her life.

Born and raised in the USA to Bulgarian parents, Katy grew up surrounded by a blend of cultures. While her family followed the classic immigrant path, she took a different route—starting her education in Houston, continuing in Burgas, and later in Utrecht.
Now based in Sofia, Katy co-founded ЗаВръщане в България (Back to Bulgaria), an initiative that helps Bulgarians abroad move to Bulgaria smoothly and contribute to the country’s potential. Through her work, Katy has met extraordinary Bulgarians making a difference—often with a good cup of coffee in hand.

A lover of history, culture, and good food, Katy sees Sofia as a city full of untold stories and creativity. She’s thrilled to co-host the Sip and Snack Tour with Svetla, blending their passion for food, specialty coffee, and Sofia’s inspiring people and culture.

MEET YOUR TOUR GUIDES

Svetla’s passion for coffee and good food started long ago in her mom’s kitchen. She would often observe her mother and learn everything she could, later discovering her passion for desserts that remains to this day.

Svetla is eager to explore every new place on the map of Sofia that offers good food and specialty coffee. In 2021, she started conducting the Coffee Tour as part of a charity auction with her colleagues and friends, and she is now excited to expand the initiative with Katy beyond her inner circle.

She also achieved second place in Bulgaria’s Aeropress Championship in 2023, and was in the top 8 while competing with a concept bar idea in Bulgaria’s Home Masters in 2024.
