Giant river otter, the largest otter species in the world, marking its territory.
Giant Otter usually create communal latrine sites along riverbanks or near dens, where they leave and spread urine and f***s using their paws and body movements. This intensifies the scent and works as a territorial signpost to warn other otter groups that the area is already occupied.

🐊 Yacaré Caiman

The Yacaré caiman (Caiman yacare) is one of the most common predators of the Pantanal. It usually measures between 2 and 2.5 meters, but large males can reach up to 3 meters. With an estimated population of 10 to 15 million individuals, it is one of the most abundant crocodilians in the world. It is an ambush predator that mainly feeds on fish, but it can also eat birds and small mammals. Despite its strength, it can become prey to the jaguar, making it part of one of the most fascinating predator interactions in the Pantanal.

On a quiet riverbank in the heart of the Pantanal, we witnessed something very special — a relaxed female jaguar and her young cub, both calmly staring at us as we observed them from our boat. A moment of pure connection, wild and untouched.

Encounters like this still fill our hearts with joy. They remind us that responsible ecotourism, when done right, not only supports conservation but also creates powerful, unforgettable experiences that stay with us forever.

To witness the largest cat in the Americas — the elusive and sadly threatened jaguar — in its natural habitat is a privilege few places in the world can offer. Here in the Pantanal, thanks to ongoing conservation efforts and sustainable tourism, these magnificent animals continue to thrive.

One of the most spectacular tiny jewels of the Atlantic Forest, the Festive Coquette (Lophornis chalybeus).

This photo was taken during one of our tours to the Atlantic Rainforest, which is home to hundreds of colorful bird species such as tanagers, toucans, hummingbirds, woodpeckers, and many more.
