Today we visited Sakya Monastery on the way to Nyalam la🙏White Conch of Sakya monastery
ས་སྐྱ་ཆོས་ཀྱི་བང་མཛོད།།
དཀར་པོ་དུང་གི་རྒྱང་གྲགས།།
ཐོས་ན་ངན་སོང་གྲོལ་སོང་།།
དུང་དཀར་འདི་ཧེ་མ་སངས་རྒྱས་དག་པི་སྐྱེསཝ་༥༠༠ ་དང་མ དག་པའི་སྐྱེསཝ་ ༥༠༠ ་ལུ་དུག་དཀར་གི་བུབ་པའི་སྐྱེསཝ་སྦེ་འཁྲུངས་འདི་ཞུཔ་གི་དུང་དཀར་ཨིན་ཟེར་མས་ལགས། ཤུས་ལས་སངས་རྒྱས་ཀྱི་ཆོས་ཀྱི་འཁོར་ལོ་སྐོརཝ་ད་ཧའི་དབང་པོ་རྒྱ་ཇིན་གི་་སངས་རྒྱས་ལུ་ཕུལ་ཕུསཝ ཨིན་ཟརར།དེ་ལས་རྒྱ་གར་གྱི་རྒྱལཔ་དམ་པ་པཱ་ལ་གྱི་རྒྱ་ནག་གི་རྒྱལཔོ་གཅིག་ལུ་ཕུལ་ཤུས་ལས་རྒྱ་ནག་གི་རྒྱལཔོ་ཀུ་བི་ལི་ཁན་གི་ས་སྐྱག་གི་གོང་མ་རྒྲོ་གོན་ཆོས་རྒྱལ་ཕགས་པ་ལུ་ཕུལཝ་ཨིན་ཟེར་མས། འ་ནི་སྦེས་ནི་འདི་གི་སངས་རྒྱས་ཞེས་ཞུཔ་ད་གི་ལྷ་ས་ཇོཝ་དང་ཨེར་བ་མེད་མི་གི་མནོ་ཝ་ཐོསཔ་ཙམ་ཅི་གི་ངན་སོང་ལས་གྲོལ་ཚུ་མི་དུང་དཀར་འདི་དེ་ཨིན་པས་ལགས།
The Holy White Conch of Sakya Monastery is a revered and ancient object with a rich historical and spiritual significance. According to the Sakya tradition, the conch dates back approximately 4,000 years, linking it directly to the time of Sakyamuni Buddha. The Buddha is believed to have recognized the conch as a shell he inhabited in a past life as a sea creature.This conch is one of only two precious Buddhist rituals consecrated by Sakyamuni Buddha himself in the Tibetan region. There is a popular belief that the conch was presented to the Buddha by Lord Indra while he was teaching the Dharma. It was later offered by Indian King Damapala to the Chinese emperor Dewareze as a gesture of gratitude for his assistance in repelling an attack on the Buddhist heartland by heathen forces.The conch then passed into the hands of Kublai Khan, the emperor of the Yuan dynasty. Kublai Khan gifted it to His Holiness Drogon Chogyal Phakpa as a token of appreciation for the empowerment of Hevajra that Phakpa had bestowed upon him. This act solidified the conch's association with the Sakya lineage, where it remains to this day.The holy conch is said to possess miraculous qualities. Those who see it are believed to witness patterns symbolizing freedom, happiness, and a perfect stupa. Its sound is said to eliminate all sins committed by the listener. When blown in front of the deceased, the conch is believed to close the gates to the three lower realms, ensuring the souls are freed from suffering. When blown in front of the living, it is believed to enhance their welfare and bring them ultimate happiness.Thus, the Holy White Conch of Sakya Monastery is not only a sacred relic with a deep connection to Tibetan Buddhist history but also a powerful instrument in the spiritual practice, offering protection, blessings, and a pathway to liberation.
