Five National Monuments will charge entry fee starting today, 1 January 2026!

Following official notification by relevant agencies, the Department of Tourism, Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Employment would like to remind our visitors that five additional National Monuments will charge monument fee of Nu. 500. No entry free for children under 5 years and 50% fee exemption for children aged 6–17 years.

The sites are Dungtse Lhakhang in Paro, Simtokha Dzong in Thimphu, Wangduephodrang Dzong, Trongsa Dzong, and Jambay Lhakhang in Bumthang.

It is introduced to help preserve Bhutan’s living heritage, help conserve these timeless cultural treasures, and enhance experience for our visitors.
