Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay will make an official visit to the Kingdom of Thailand between June 25 and 28 at the invitation of Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand, Srettha Thavisin.

The Prime Minister will be accompanied by his spouse, Tashi Doma, Minister for Foreign Affairs and External Trade DN Dhungyel, Minister for Home Affairs Tshering, and other senior officials of the government .

During the visit, Lyonchhen will receive a Royal Audience from Their Majesties The King and Queen of Thailand, meet Prime Minister Thavisin; and senior leaders of the Royal Thai Government.

Discussions during these meetings will focus on matters of mutual interest including development of tourism cooperation, trade enhancement, on the ongoing Free Trade Negotiations, and sports cooperation between the two nations.

The Prime Minister will give a talk on “Enlightened Leadership” at Chulalongkorn University and host a reception for Thai tour operators, travel agents and airlines for the promotion of tourism in Bhutan.

His Majesty The King conferred Red Scarf to Yab Dhondup Gyaltshen, Her Majesty The Gyaltsuen’s father, today.

Now the Chief Pilot at Drukair, Yab Dasho Dhondup Gyaltshen has served in the national airline for 35 years, and spearheaded a multitude of timely initiatives to further Bhutan’s aviation industry.

Yab Dasho Dhondup Gyaltshen also oversaw the transformation of Paro Airport, which has received widespread accolades from the global travel industry.

Yab Dasho Dhondup Gyaltshen is married to Yum Sonam Chuki and they have five children.

His Majesty The King was received by the Amir of Kuwait, His Highness Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al Sabah this morning. His Majesty is on a Royal Visit to Kuwait.

His Majesty also met with the Prime Minister of Kuwait, His Highness Sheikh Dr Mohammad Sabah Al-Salem Al Sabah.

The former Prime Minister of Kuwait, His Highness Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah hosted a lunch in honour of His Majesty later in the day.

Bhutan and Kuwait share exceptionally warm and friendly relations, and marked the 40th anniversary of diplomatic ties in 2023.
