Yulsar, a quintessential Bhutanese village, lies approximately 17 kilometers from the district headquarters, just below the Trongsa-Gelephu Highway. Its houses are clustered together in one area.

A short distance uphill from Yulsar, you'll find the College of Language and Cultural Studies, Taktse Central School, and Tashidingkha Primary School. Additionally, a new BHU (Basic Health Unit) is being constructed to enhance healthcare services for the communities of Yulsar, Taktse, and Tashidingkha. The historic Kuenga Rabten Palace is also located nearby.

With an amazing hiking trail that runs through pinewoods to the oak forests and Rhododendron jungles lead to Taktshang (Tiger's Nest), an iconic temple clings to the sheer cliff. It has touched the souls of thousands and more. Today, a visit to Bhutan is incomplete without seeing the temple.

Located at an altitude of 3100 masl, Taktshang has eight well maintained temples each gives a different vibes. Blessed in the 8th century by Lotus-born Padmasambhava (Guru Rinpoche), who brought Vajrayana Buddhism to Bhutan. He flew to the site riding on the Tigress's back, underwent meditation for over three months to subdue the evil force taking the lives of the people in the region. He transformed the evil force into a local deity, who is now taking care of the region.
