The National Memorial Chorten, built in 1974 in memory of Bhutan’s Third King, is one of Thimphu’s most iconic landmarks. Adorned with golden spires and vibrant prayer wheels, it serves as a place of daily worship. Visitors can walk clockwise around the stupa, spin the prayer wheels, and immerse themselves in Bhutan’s spiritual traditions.

Thimphu, the capital of Bhutan, sits at an altitude of 2,300 meters, nestled peacefully among serene mountains. It's one-of the highest capitals in the world remarkably, with no traffic lights.

Thimphu has about 115,000 residents, making it the largest city in Bhutan, yet still small and walkable.

All buildings feature rooftops in just three colors: green, red, and yellow. Can you guess what these colors represent?
