Some AMAZING Facts about 108 Stupas!

1. 108 stupas (aka Chortens) will be constructed in a single day on 1 Nov. 2026 at Gelephu Mindfulness City

2. Each Jangchub Chorten will stand roughly 50% taller than a three-storey building, and over eight times the height of a person.

3. If stacked vertically, 108 chortens at 15 metres each would rise 1.62 kilometres into the sky. Nearly
twice the height of the Burj Khalifa. Roughly five Eiffel Towers. More than eleven Great Pyramids.

4. The 108 chortens will stretch along the Mao Chu, spaced at 108 metres apart, centre to centre, covering around 12 kms along the notorious river bank.

5. Project 108 will mobilise 40,000 people, a workforce comparable to the Great Pyramid and the Taj Mahal in a single coordinated day.

6. The total project cost is expected around USD 21.6 million (with each costing approximately USD 200,000).

7. The stupa can be built or sponsored by an individual, a family, a community, or an institution from around the world. Sponsorship covers construction, sacred materials, and consecration by Buddhist masters.
