The Paro Tshechu festival is held annually at Rinpung Dzong, Paro and is currently ongoing between the dates 8th-12th April.

The highlight of Paro Tshechu, amongst the popular mask dances, is the unveiling of the colossal silk Thongdrel, bearing the image of Guru Rinpoche, the saint who introduced Buddhism to Bhutan. The Thongdrel drapes an entire wall of the building and holds profound significance amongst the Bhutanese people.

The Thimphu Tshechu festival will be held through dates 2nd-4th October, 2025
