What stone was to the first People, technology must now become for us to secure the future of our culture and heritage. the Portal acts as a digital vault, an exacting archive that captures each rock art in millimeter accuracy. This work is done in collaboration with the knowledge keepers at Tsodilo, whose guidance ensures its authenticity.

Tsodilo’s Hills 4,500 rock paintings are at HIGH-RISK of fading away due to natural weathering which is increasingly being exacerbated by climate change. Rising temperatures and erratic weather patterns are stripping away thousands of years of cultural memory.

To safe guard against this threat, the Portal acts as a digital vault, an exacting archive that captures each rock art in millimeter accuracy to digitally preserve for future generations. This work is done in collaboration with the knowledge keepers at Tsodilo, whose guidance ensures its authenticity.

To all stakeholders, and operators in cultural tourism, preservation our duty. What stone was to the First People, technology must now become for us because once it’s gone, it’s gone FOREVER.
