From humble beginnings in the villages of Gusii to building one of Kenya’s most recognized transport brands, Evans Nyagaka Anyona has become a true symbol of determination, resilience and vision.
Born and raised in a modest family, Evans attended Riabigutu Primary School before joining Masimba Secondary School for his O-level education. Like many young Kenyans from struggling backgrounds, his dream of advancing to college was cut short by financial hardship. But instead of giving up, he chose to fight for a better future through hard work and persistence.
Evans began his journey in the transport business with small steps, learning the industry and understanding the needs of travelers. In 2008, he founded ENA Investments Limited, with the buses initially operating under the Transline Sacco brand. Through discipline, consistency and smart business decisions, the company grew steadily across the country. In 2018, the brand was officially reintroduced as ENA Coach, a name derived from his initials — Evans Nyagaka Anyona.
Today, ENA Coach is among the leading bus companies in Kenya, serving thousands of passengers daily and creating employment opportunities for many young people. Evans Anyona’s story continues to inspire countless Kenyans, especially students and youths who feel limited by lack of money or education.
His journey proves that success is not only determined by academic papers, but also by vision, courage, discipline and the willingness to start small. From a young man who could not afford higher education to a millionaire entrepreneur and respected businessman, Evans Anyona has shown that determination can change destiny.
