Hollywood Studios 🎬✨

Today was all about making sure Gary got the full Hollywood Studios experience, this was his first visit EVER! 🤯

Since Galaxy’s Edge was at the top of his list, we made it to the park just after rope drop and headed straight there. We had Lightning Lanes booked for the day, although honestly, they weren’t really necessary because the wait times were pretty short. But since we only had one day at Hollywood Studios, I definitely wanted to make sure we got everything in that Gary wanted to experience! Because we were staying off site. We took an uber to the park, which was super fast. Pick up didn't take long at all either, all of the parks have a dedicated ride share section where you can wait for your car.

Gary’s favourite ride was definitely Smugglers Run 🚀, while I really loved Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway. And of course, we had to get on Tower of Terror too!

We also stopped at Oga’s Cantina for drinks, and they played the song, so Gary was definitely not disappointed! 😂 The drinks were strong, too, so I’d say Oga’s delivered on all fronts. 🍹🍸We also ran into my travel bestie there, what are the chances that we were at disney at the same time?!

We stopped for lunch at Woody’s Lunch Box and then continued making our way around the park. We managed to get on all of the rides we wanted, so I’d call that a very successful park day!

It did rain a bit in the afternoon, but thankfully we came prepared with ponchos, so it really wasn’t too bad. 🌧️

After the park, we headed over to Disney Springs for dinner at Earl of Sandwich, where I got my favourite Thanksgiving sandwich, because obviously I couldn’t pass that up! 😂 And of course, a strawberry margarita was a must. 🍓🍹 It just wouldn’t be a Disney Springs visit without one!

Then we ended the day the best way possible, soaking in the hot tub and relaxing after a very full day! 🥰♨️

And yes… Gary survived his first Hollywood Studios visit! 😂

Day 8 – The one where we get kicked off the ship. 🛳️😂

We were awake by 7:30am so we could be out of our room by 8. My husband actually left the ship early and took the budget shuttle to pick up our rental car, which he said was seamless.

I waited a bit, then grabbed our luggage, and it took 17 minutes from scanning my card to getting off the ship, through customs, and outside. Amazing! We’ve been on smaller ships that weren’t nearly this organized, so thumbs up to Royal for this process! 👏

We had to wait a bit for our rental car, which was fine… except it was already HOT! 🥵

Since our flight wasn’t until 8pm, we had booked a hotel for the day, which turned out to be a great decision. We drove right to the hotel, but our room wasn’t ready yet. They offered us a key to use the pool and said we could have an early breakfast while we waited.

We chose shopping instead and stopped at Ross and Primark. By the time we got back, our room was ready. I had booked a studio at the Residence Inn by the airport, and for some reason they gave me a two-bedroom! 🥳

While we were gassing up the rental car, we got a notification that our flight was delayed an hour and a half. It eventually ended up being almost three hours delayed. 🙃

We brought our bags up to the room, repacked everything properly, grabbed a quick lunch, and then I came back to watch some football. I did head down for a bit to try out the pool and hot tub, which were both warm.

In hindsight, I probably should have spent that time napping. 😂 Because around the same time we were dropping our luggage off, we found out the flight was delayed even further AND we had a food voucher as an apology. 😅

Of course, we had to use them. Free food is free food, but it didn’t exactly make the waiting process any better. 😉 Ask me about the outback experience at the airport, let's just say qr codes and technology is not always the way to go when you are hangry.

And just like that, our 27th anniversary cruise was over. ❤️

Eight days of exploring, eating, drinking, relaxing, dancing, singing, laughing until my belly hurt, and making memories with some of our favourite people.

Star of the Seas did not disappoint. We loved the ship, loved the itinerary, and most of all, loved getting to experience it all with our friends. I cannot wait to share more with you!

The hardest part about a great vacation is always coming home but the best part is knowing there’s another adventure to plan. 🥰

Day 7 – Final Day at Sea 🚢

Our final day on the ship, and I was determined to fit in all the things I wanted to do!

We woke up and had breakfast at the Windjammer, then spent some time reading by the pool and taking a swim. Lunch was nachos and a smash burger, something I had been trying to get all week, and it definitely did not disappoint! 🍔

After lunch, I settled in for a nap, only to be rudely woken up by a REAL FIRE! 😳🔥

The captain came over the speakers announcing an alarm. Turns out there had been a fire in the main laundry room, but thankfully, everything was okay.

We had drinks in the overlook. Before heading to dinner.

We were supposed to see Back to the Future that afternoon, but it was postponed until the evening. Then, while we were eating dinner, it was cancelled completely due to technical difficulties. 😩

No worries, we still had plenty of things we wanted to do!

We did some shopping, booked our next cruise (because apparently we can't get off one cruise without booking another 😂), then headed to the Music Hall with friends. From there, we went to the dueling pianos for a couple of drinks.

We put our luggage out for pickup and then headed back to the Music Hall for another show.

We still needed to hit up the casino, so we joined our friends there for a bit. By then, it was almost time for bed, but we changed things up and went to AquaDome Market instead! 🍕

After that, it was finally bedtime. We had an early start ahead of us…

Will we make it home?! ✈️🏠 Spoiler alert, it's 10pm and we are still at the gate. Plane was supposed to take off at 8:40pm. 🥱

Day 6 – At Sea & Our Anniversary 🥂❤️

Today was our 27th anniversary, and what better place to celebrate than on a cruise ship?! 🚢🥰

We started the day with breakfast at Pearl Café before heading off for a galley tour. It was so cool getting a behind-the-scenes look at everything that goes into feeding thousands of people every day!

After that, it was lunch at Giovanni’s, followed by some trivia before heading off to the spa for a little anniversary pampering, a scalp massage, facial AND foot massage. 💆‍♀️ I could definitely get used to this!

We watched the Create show before getting ready for formal night. ✨

Dinner was delicious including steak and tons of lobster for our table. 🦞 😋

Then it was time for the AquaTheater show, Torque, which was AMAZING! 🤩 We grabbed some beverages and relaxed at 1900 before heading over to the dueling pianos.

And then, you guessed it… PIZZA. 🍕😂

A very full day, but such a fun way to celebrate 27 years together. ❤️

Day 5 – St. Kitts 🇰🇳

A brand-new port for us, and we knew we wanted to see St. Kitts from the water! 🌊

We woke up to overcast skies and headed to the Windjammer for breakfast before meeting our catamaran and crew for the day.

It was only about a 5-minute walk from the ship to the marina, which was actually really pleasant as the sun started to peek through the clouds. ☀️

We sailed around the ship before stopping at Sh*tten Bay (no, for real 😂) to snorkel. There was a pretty cool shipwreck, and we saw SO many fish! 🐠🤿

After swimming, it was time for the included lunch before sailing back to the ship. We could even see Nevis from our stop, he said it's a hotspot for celebrities and also Alexander Hamilton was born - until they took up a collection just to send him to the mainland. 😉

Once back onboard, after a brief shopping stop, we had quick showers, dinner in the Main Dining Room, and then headed to the Windjammer for dessert. Because apparently one dessert stop isn't enough on a cruise! 😂

After dessert, we hit up Lou's and then spent some time in the hot tub before grabbing pizza, a crepe, and finally calling it a night.

Another pretty perfect day in paradise! 🏝️❤️

🌴🐢 Day 4 – St. Thomas 🐢🌴

Today we got to sleep in a bit and woke up to see LAND! 😂 Since the ship didn’t arrive until 1pm, we had a leisurely breakfast, did a little work, wandered around the ship, and then it was time for our excursion.

We were booked on a ship excursion to see the turtles, and it did not disappoint! We met up with our group and walked over to the catamaran before taking a VERY wet ride out to Buck Island. 🌊😂

We were here back in 2014, so I was excited to see how things had changed. We got in the water and saw turtles, stingrays, fish, barracuda—and apparently a shark as we were pulling in! 🐢🦈

After swimming for a bit, we headed over to Water Island for some beach time. We decided to stay on the boat instead, and honestly, it was a great choice! We floated around with noodles, chatted with the crew, and even spotted more fish and another turtle. 🐢💦

Soon it was time to head back to the ship, but not before the crew thanked us for being so awesome by giving both couples a bottle of rum as a parting gift! 😂🍹

Back on the ship, we showered, had dinner at Windjammer, which included a chocolate fountain, watched us sail away from St. Thomas, and then headed to the SOL ice skating show, which did not disappoint! ⛸️✨

🚢 Day 3 - At Sea!

I was SO excited to finally spend some time exploring the ship today!

We started the morning with breakfast at Windjammer, and it was surprisingly easy to find a seat. We definitely didn’t have the same experience on the Oasis Class ships or Anthem, so this was an awesome start to the day!

☕️ Then it was off to Pearl Café for frozen coffee before wandering around the ship and starting the day with a beverage. 😉🍹

We found some comfy seats and I spent a little time reading my book before grabbing a small lunch. I had to save room because tonight’s dinner was one of my absolute favourite meals on a cruise ship!

The afternoon was spent doing a little bit of everything, wandering around, playing trivia (which we WON thanks to Julia! 🎶🏆), and of course finding the frozen daiquiri bar. 🍹

Eventually, we headed back to the room for a little rest.

This is why sea days are my favourite. You can do everything… or absolutely nothing at all. There are activities for every age and every mood, from exercise classes and trivia to bingo, live entertainment and more.

🍽️ Dinner tonight was Teppanyaki, and true to form, we stuffed ourselves silly! 😂 The food was fantastic, and somehow I still managed dessert, a chocolate cheesecake that disappeared in a flash. Normally after a meal like this, I’m way too full for dessert, but apparently tonight was different! It was also Bobbi Jo's birthday ( #3 on this trip if we are counting 😉)

🎶 After dinner, we headed to the music show featuring 80s music, and it did NOT disappoint. We were definitely up on the dance floor!

Then it was time for the Silent Disco, which was SO much fun. 🎧💃

But after a full day of exploring, eating, dancing and drinking… I was ready for bed!

🏝️ DAY 2, PERFECT DAY AT COCOCAY 🏝️

Perfect Day is one of my favourite stops on a Royal Caribbean cruise! In our experience, it’s usually our last port of the cruise, but this time it was our first. And honestly… I’m not mad about it! 😂

We always spring for Hideaway Beach, the adults-only side of the island. It has great food, a beautiful beach, a DJ, a heated pool, and TONS of chairs. Basically, everything we need for a relaxing beach day. 🍹🏖️

We arrived just after 8 AM and spent the day doing exactly what we came to do, eating, swimming, drinking and reading. 😎

At one point, we were called out of the water because there was lightning within five miles. It got dark for a little bit, but somehow it never actually rained on us, which is a first for us at CocoCay! 🙌

We headed back to the ship, grabbed some sailaway photos, showered and applied aloe 🤭, then met up with our friends for a pre-dinner drink.

After dinner, we had a little nap (because cruising is exhausting, apparently 😂) and then headed to the Headliner Theater for the show.

That night was Tape Face - who you may recognize from America’s Got Talent. He was hilarious and did A LOT of audience participation… which meant I spent most of the show quietly hoping he would NOT look my way.

After the show, we hit the casino for a bit, explored a little more of the ship and discovered that while we were in the show… it had actually rained! 🌧️

So naturally, we decided the only reasonable thing to do was go hit the hot tubs.

We learned that at midnight, some of the hot tubs shut down while others open up, so we ended up hot tub hopping around the ship.

And finally, we stopped at Pearl Café for a bedtime snack before calling it a night.

And that was Day 2, our first full day of the cruise! 🚢💙

🚢 DAY 1 - EMBARKATION! 🚢

And just like that… we’re officially on Star of the Seas! ✨

Our embarkation was super easy! We took an Uber to the ship, and from the time we got out of the car, it was only about 20 minutes until we were onboard, including security, check-in, and walking up the gangway. 🙌

First stop? Muster station. Always get that out of the way first! ✔️

Then the fun began…

🍴 Lunch at AquaDome Market
🍹 Found our first drink of the day
🚢 Explored the ship a bit (spoiler: it’s Day 3 and we STILL haven’t seen it all! 😂)
🧳 Unpacked
🍽️ Dinner in the Main Dining Room
🥃 Post-dinner drinks at Schooner Bar
😂 Comedy show
🎤 Karaoke
🍕 Pizza before bed

And our first impression? This ship does NOT feel crowded at all! 👏

But… today is Day 3, so we’ll see if that changes once everyone is fully settled in! 👀

🌴☀️ TODAY WE’RE AT PERFECT DAY AT COCOCAY! 🏝️🚢

One of our favourite stops is Perfect Day at CocoCay, and today we’re back enjoying a little piece of paradise in the Bahamas! 💙

Our favourite place to spend the day? Hideaway Beach 🌴🍹

It’s the perfect spot when we want to slow things down, soak up the sunshine, relax on the beach and enjoy that laid-back Caribbean feeling. And of course… there’s plenty of food and drinks to keep us happy throughout the day! 😋

But if relaxing isn’t your thing, there is SO much to do at Perfect Day:
💦 Thrill Waterpark with huge waterslides
🌊 Hideaway Beach for an adults-only beach escape
🏖️ Beautiful beaches and pools
🌴 Oasis Lagoon for a giant freshwater pool day
🛶 Excursions and water activities
🍹 Bars, restaurants and plenty of places to grab a bite
☀️ And lots of spots to simply find a chair and enjoy the sunshine!

That’s one of the things we love about CocoCay you really can make it whatever kind of day you want. Adventure, pool time, beach time, great food… or absolutely nothing but sunshine and relaxation. 🙌

For us today? Hideaway Beach, good food, sunshine and a whole lot of relaxing. 💙🌴
