I recently shared this in a newbie paddle boarding group I’m a part of, and a lot of people didn’t know this so I thought I’d share here for all you badass paddleboarding folks ✌️
Okay guys, I notice a lot of people making a common mistake and I want to give you guys a little advice!
When you’re inflating your board, know the max PSI and don’t be afraid to pump that baby up!
A lot of people under inflate their boards and it gets really wobbly on them. Your board should be solid when you sit or stand on it.
My max PSI is 15, and I often inflate to 14.5 unless it’s a hot day and I plan on being in full sun for a long time, then I usually inflate to 14. I also usually sit mostly so the wobbly doesn’t affect me for standing.
In short, know your PSI and inflate your boards properly. An electric pump can be a great way to get accurate PSI as it turns off once it gets to the PSI you set it to.
Happy paddling everyone!!
Note: I’m not a paddleboard professional, just someone who loves to paddle and share her passion, and you should always read the manual for your board and follow manufacturer’s suggestions.
