The purpose of this study (with Ayodeji Osiname) is to gather and share the experiences of international students studying in Canada since the Fall of 2023 when the IRCC started talking about changing immigration policy to reduce the number of international students and to reduce the number of work permits being issued annually.
We want to know how the changing policies and the portrayal of international students in the media affected your experiences. We also want to know how you have been welcomed and supported by the community regardless of the shifting policies.
We want to add to the current knowledge of how international students experience study in Canada.
If you would like to share your stories, if you believe it is important to share the challenges of being an international student, or if you want program leaders to understand your needs as a student, this research will bring your experiences into the light.
If you would like more information about the study or would like to volunteer to participate in the study, please send an email to ask for more information about the study to [email protected]
When we received the email, we will send out a package of information about the study including a detailed description of all data collection processes and a list of things you will need to know before you agree to participate. We will be waiting to hear from you!
**Note: Study open to all Post-secondary students in Manitoba and Saskatchewan. To participate email: [email protected]
