What a wide ride. 😰🤯

Our journey back to Canada is something I’ll most likely never forget.
A few weeks before this we were meant to be in China then Australia, we had everything booked and planned before the pandemic occurred, and never in a million years did I think this would happen.
Within the space of two weeks I frantically cancelled China and tried to re-route ourselves so we could still enjoy a vacation, at that moment in time the only countries in the news were China, Italy and Iran. So I thought... why not head back to Japan? 12hours after having that thought Japan was in the news with an outbreak of Covid-19.
Eventually we settled on Bali, it’s not an unfamiliar country to us but neither of us really intended to go back. Anyways 10 days before departure I had cancelled China and now we were off to Bali, Singapore and Australia (Australia had always been in the plans due to the Arnold Expo).

Vacation day arrived, the world seemed to be behaving itself with most countries acting pretty chill, even at the airport checking in for Bali we had no issues. You would think this pandemic wasn’t even happening, so we gladly skipped down the aisles of the plane ready for sunny vacation.

Once we arrived in Bali we had to fill out some health forms, get our temperatures checked and even have a one on one with a doctor before immigration, my reaction was “wow, this country is really ahead, I feel even better and safer for picking Bali.” Little did I know....

Once we arrived at our villa I turned on the TV only to watch my fears come true. New Zealand doing a mandatory quarantine and closing boarders, Australia closing boarders to all travellers, Singapore had an outbreak and the city is going into lockdown, Bali reporting its first cases... what the f**k do we do!
