Since its inception, Tried and True has been committed to producing exceptional plant material and introducing outstanding varieties to the market place. urseries across Western Canada and parts of the United States. We offer a diverse selection of over 150 premium varieties of annuals from the traditional to the new and unusual. Our plant specialists make annual trips overseas to meet and collaborate with leading international breeders and young plant suppliers in search of innovative varieties as well as improvements on existing ones. Through propagation, comprehensive growing trials and testing, the pending varieties are assessed on a wide range of criteria from flowering, growth habit, disease tolerance and adaptability and performance in various climatic conditions. Only a handful of plants pass our rigid testing and trial process to join the Tried and True line each year.

Trialing a new sun-loving petunia called Rose Ink for 2027 and very intrigued by it. This mounding and semi-trailing plant is fantastic for hanging baskets, containers and garden beds. Yeah or nay for you?

Sanvitalia Sunshine is a cheery annual originating from Mexico bearing flowers reminiscent of mini Zinnias. It's a perfect choice for sunny borders, garden beds, hanging baskets and containers because of its plant habit - forming a carpet full of bright yellow blooms. Grow Sanvitalia Sunshine in well-drained soil in full sun. Deadhead spent blooms to prolong flowering all summer long.

Each summer, we partner with in support of the Canadian Cancer Society with the Summer Spirit Hanging Basket program. For over 16 years together, we've raised over $250 000 for cancer research and support programs. Our colourful baskets are headed to a GardenWorks store near you.
