🌿 A woman we know once described her first hour on the Orient Express as the only time in years she’d sat somewhere without reaching for her phone. Not because she was told to, there was just nothing else she wanted to be doing.

That’s the thing about trains; real ones, the kind with linen and brass fittings and a dining car that takes itself very seriously. They ask so little of you. Watch the Alps go by on the Bernina Express, or let Belmond’s other routes carry you through wherever they run, and the only real decision left is what to order with dinner.

We keep coming back to rail journeys with clients who’ve done the five-star resorts, the private islands, all of it — and still say the train was the part they talk about most.

Curious where a scenic rail route could fit into your next trip?
We’d love to help you plan it.

🌿 We met Alex from One Aldwych this summer in Miami, and it was one of those instantly easy connections — no pitch deck required, just a genuinely good conversation.

She spoke about her hotel the way you'd talk about family, which, as it turns out, is basically what it is — independently owned, deeply rooted in Covent Garden, a setting that trades polish-for-polish's-sake for an actual sense of place.

These shots are from one of our favourite duos to follow: Simon and Jen of theseptemberchronicles.com/ -- who caught the hotel exactly the way we love seeing it — not staged, just lived in. It's the dried thistle in amber glass with morning light on a bathtub showcasing the rooftops framed candidly in the window.

Grateful for the welcome, the generosity, and a partnership that's already off to a lovely start with One Aldwych ✨

🌿 We love a good collaboration, and this one might be our favourites.

One Aldwych teamed up with the Roald Dahl estate for an afternoon tea that reads like it fell straight out of the book — a "cabbage soup" that isn't what it sounds like, a chocolate waterfall doing exactly what you hope it does, and a champagne named for the moment you start floating a little.

It's been running for a few years now, and it's still a sellout, which says a lot on its own. Their creative director has called the collaboration an obvious choice, and the result something the whole Roald Dahl team was genuinely happy with — which tracks, because every course here follows the story closely enough that half the fun is figuring out which page you're eating.

Whether it's a birthday, a reunion, or just an excuse to feel eight years old again for two hours, this is the kind of indulgent afternoon we'd book without needing a reason and we can't wait to check it out!

🌿 Somewhere past the tree line above Vals, the valley stops looking designed.

There's a week or two each summer when the whole valley fills in like this — reds and whites pushing up through the grass, like the mountain decided to have an opinion about colour for once. We typically don't plan a trip around a window that small, but if you happen to be there for it, we promise you that something shifts. The itinerary stops mattering and you just stand there for longer than you meant to.

I think that's the real measure of a good trip, actually. Not what was on the schedule, but what made you stop checking it.

🌿 She joined us at dinner in Amalfi.

One of terracotta ladies — he gives each of them a name, a personality, a whole biography — with that unmistakable crown of sea-sponge hair. He's been sculpting them in a stone watchtower at Marina di Praia since 1993, a tower that's stood on that coastline since 1278. Ask anyone in Praiano about him and watch their face change. The locals don't just know his work, they love him, and that affection is its own kind of recommendation.

This is really the heart of what we do. If art is your thing, we know whose studio door to knock on. If it's food, or music, or fashion, same answer, different door.

The coast you experience depends entirely on who's making the introductions. ✨

🌿 A swimsuit drying over a balcony railing. Nothing about this moment looks planned — and that's exactly the point.

Behind it:
• the room that faces the water instead of the street
• the arrival timed so you never stood in a lobby line
• the restaurant already holding your table
• the welcome amenity that happened to be your favourite
• the boat for Thursday, booked before you knew you'd want one
• the late checkout no one had to ask for

Effortless is we've designed, you just get to live in it.

🌿 My first ever podcast interview is officially in the books, and I don’t think I stopped smiling the entire time.

(And this photo proves it!)

I sat down with Kiya and the Unconditionally Her Magazine CEO + Host, Karen Shayne, for the Unconditionally Her Magazine “Conversations” podcast and if you’d told me beforehand it would involve a truly questionable glass of rosé (we pivoted to ol’ faithful white within the hour, no regrets) and laughing so much my cheeks hurt, I’d have believed you immediately — because that was the exact energy brought to my living room.

Once we got rolling, I candidly talked about what this work actually looks like behind the polished photos, how this journey started for me through Travel Edge, what it meant to be named one of Condé Nast Traveler’s Top Travel Specialists for 2026, and a topic close to my heart — women giving themselves permission to book the trip, with or without anyone else along for the ride.

Prep, nerves, wine swap, the whole thing — I loved every minute of it. Episode drops next week, and I’ll be sharing more behind-the-scenes photos and highlights right alongside it.

Can’t wait for you to hear it all.

🌿 Live For: ________

Some people live for the first sip of coffee on a balcony they don’t recognize yet. Others live for the quiet between flights, that strange suspended hour when no one can reach you and anything still feels possible.

For me, it’s the moment a place stops feeling like a destination and starts feeling like a memory you haven’t made yet.

What I’ve learned, after years of building trips for other people, is that the magic rarely happens by accident. It’s the right room, the right timing, the door that opens because someone made a call.

That’s the part I get to do and also the part I 𝓵𝓸𝓿𝓮 to do.

I’d love to know — finish the sentence for yourself.
I live for: ________ ✨

No wrong answers, just the truth of it.
