This is what a workday looks like when your office is a cockpit. 🚁

When you decide to become a helicopter pilot, this is your view. Our pilots fly tours and aerial work from Springbank Airport (CYBW), the same base where our Training Academy students work toward their hours of ground school and flight training.

Ready to see this as your office one day? Take the first step with the L R Helicopters Training Academy.

Some jobs can only be done from above.

When terrain gets steep or access is limited, L R Helicopters’ aerial work services get people, equipment, and eyes where they need to be.

Which job would you want to see up close next?

Why do people decide to learn to fly helicopters?

It isn’t always because they grew up knowing they wanted to be a pilot. For some, it’s a career change. For others, it’s the challenge of mastering a highly skilled profession, a passion for the aviation industry, or finally turning a long-held interest in flying into something real.

At L R Helicopters’ Training Academy at Springbank Airport (CYBW), the goal is to help serious aspiring pilots better understand the path toward a career in helicopter aviation.

Which sounds more like you: a career change, a passion for the industry, or a personal goal?

Meet the Bell 212HP, one of the workhorses in the L R Helicopters fleet.

Built for demanding operating environments, this twin-engine helicopter combines power, cabin space, and versatility to support work across remote terrain, from utility operations and passenger transport to firefighting, search and rescue support, and long-line operations.

When ground access is limited or impractical, the Bell 212HP can help move people or sling equipment into remote areas, supporting crews and operations where they need to go.

Built for the work. Ready for challenging terrain.

Which should we spotlight next: an aircraft or an operation?

Showing family or friends around Alberta? Sometimes the most memorable part of the itinerary is seeing a familiar place from an entirely different perspective.

L R Helicopters offers scenic helicopter tours flying from Springbank Airport, northeast of Cochrane and west of Calgary, giving you a whole new way to experience Alberta from above.

Whether it’s a visit, celebration, or weekend together, private and customizable tour options can make the experience feel a little more personal, and a lot more memorable.

Who would you bring along for an Alberta helicopter tour? Tag them below or tell us in the comments.

Thinking about commercial helicopter pilot training in Alberta? One of the first steps is understanding how you could plan for the investment.

Eligible commercial-pilot students may be able to explore government and private loan options, depending on program and funding requirements. L R Helicopters can also help students understand the application process, although financing is not provided directly by L R.

If helicopter training is part of your career plan, start by getting clear on the path, not by trying to figure everything out at once.

Save this for when you’re ready to research helicopter flight training and funding in Alberta.
