CONDO REFRESH | PART 1: THE BEFORE

Not every renovation needs to start from scratch.

We recently took on a fun little project, transforming a dated condo into something that feels fresh, inviting, and full of personality. The challenge? Working with a quick timeline, being thoughtful about where we invested, and finding ways to make the biggest impact without completely reinventing the space.

For us, good design is about seeing the potential in what’s already there. Sometimes a few considered changes, the right materials, and a fresh perspective can make all the difference.

Arches.

A soft architectural moment that frames the view through to the mudroom beyond. A gentle arched opening leads to burgundy caned cabinetry, brass hardware, and checkerboard marble floors, curves and craftsmanship layered with a collected mix of antiques, a vintage portrait, and sculptural ceramics in the foreground.

Springbank Hill: A Family-Friendly Home with Style

A serene study in warm modern interior design, where soft neutrals, natural textures, and thoughtful styling create a welcoming Calgary home. The palette is grounded in pale woods and warm whites — a calm foundation that lets refined details shine.

The entry sets the tone immediately. A slim black console introduces a clean, modern line against soft white walls, with woven baskets beneath and a round black-framed mirror above. Brass candlesticks, a lush floral arrangement, and a warm brass ceiling fixture add depth and understated glamour, while a soft vintage-inspired rug grounds the space underfoot.

Simple, welcoming, and beautifully layered — timeless character brought to a newly built home.

Boardroom.

A refined meeting space with hotel-lounge energy. A long dark-oak table anchors the room, surrounded by sculptural olive-green leather chairs on slim black metal frames.

Overhead, a custom bronze linear pendant makes a statement, while white oak panelling, a brass sconce, and curated black-and-white art reinforce the building’s identity. Styled with sculptural ceramics and dried florals.

AVD Kelvin Grove | Part 2

Our tour of continues! 5 bedrooms, 7 baths, 2,617 sqft.

Join Aly as he starts in the dining area and flows into the living area, where the hearth takes centre stage with a beautiful curved tile detail, creating a sculptural focal point that anchors the space.

From there, we head to the entryway, filled with natural light pouring in from both the front and back of the home, before finishing with a closer look at some of the details that make this home so special.

Charleswood: A Love of Modern Design

A new build we designed from the ground up — a family-friendly space that doesn’t lack style, shaped around the clients’ love of modern design.

An open entry with architectural custom millwork welcomes you, while an almost floating staircase creates a beautiful moment as you enter. Open-concept living, dining, and kitchen take in gorgeous treehouse-like views, with a large asymmetrical, monolithic island grounding the space. Glass sliding doors bring indoor/outdoor living to both the kitchen and dining room, and the principal bath continues the clean aesthetic with expansive herringbone marble and warm wood details.
