Retirement doesn’t have to be sleepwalked. But waking up requires attention, and a willingness to treat this moment not as an ending, but as a threshold.

I HAVE BEEN ASKED, HERE IS THE ANSWER.
Based on current agricultural standards and industry practices, Vietnamese chicken does not have added growth hormones.
While there is sometimes a public perception or rumor that rapid growth in poultry is due to hormones, this is unfounded for several reasons:
It is Illegal and Ineffective: Similar to global standards, the use of hormones in poultry production is not practiced. Even if used, growth hormones are protein-based and would be broken down in the chicken’s digestive tract, making them ineffective if added to feed.
Rapid Growth via Breeding, Not Hormones: The quick growth of modern broilers is the result of decades of genetic selection, optimized nutrition, and improved environmental conditions (temperature, lighting, and ventilation), rather than added synthetic hormones.
"Westernized" vs. Native Chickens: While some industrial, fast-growing breeds are used in Vietnam (often referred to as "westernized" or "white chicken"), native, free-range, or "gardened" chicken (like gà ta or gà thả vườn) is very common and prized for its firm texture and natural, slower growth.
Specialty Breeds (e.g., D**g Tao): Famous, high-value breeds like the D**g Tao (or dragon chicken) have uniquely large legs due to natural, specialized breeding and care techniques, not added steroids.
Summary
Chicken sold in Vietnam, including both commercial broiler and indigenous breeds, is not given growth hormones. The rapid development of commercial chickens is due to breeding for efficient feed-to-meat conversion.
