Standard touristy things to do in and around Bonavista. An impressive list.
✔️Designated UNESCO Global Geopark- ‘Discovery Global Geopark’ covers the upper half of the Bonavista peninsula. Includes sea stacks, caves and arches, fossils, root cellars plus many more!
✔️Cape Bonavista- spectacular scenery; great for whale watching…the best place to see the sunset..see fishing boats steam around the cape, etc.
✔️Cape Shore Trail- great trail for a leisurely hike along the ocean
✔️Cape Bonavista Lighthouse Tour
✔️Landfall Municipal Park- fire pits/bbqs, bbq hut, great place for children and pets to play
✔️John Cabot Statue
✔️Dungeon Provincial Park- this place is a must see! See what millions of years of erosion have carved out of the earth. Along this road, you can see horses, cows and sheep
✔️The Matthew Ship at The Matthew Legacy Building- tour John Cabot's 500 + year old replica ship and learn some history on how Bonavista was discovered way back in 1497
✔️The Mockbeggar Plantation- this site tells the story of life in Newfoundland in the 1930s/40s, and whether to join Canada or remain an independent nation
✔️The Ryan Premises National Historic Site- commemorates the rich history of the Newfoundland cod fishery and tells the story of the Ryan family who pioneered generations of business success in the fishery
✔️The Garrick Theatre-hosts live performances weekly...during intermission sip on your favourite cocktail out in The Annex!
✔️Harbour Boardwalk- take in the sites and smells of a busy working harbour

✔️Long Beach- great place to swim, play in the sand, or just to relax
✔️Bicycle Rentals- Bonavista is a great place to bike around as it is mostly flat with few hills...and we have the best scenery!
✔️White Rock Murals and Lookout- visitors can drive up to the rock and be rewarded by a magnificent panoramic view of Bonavista, the nearby town of Spillars Cove and the Atlantic Ocean
