When going through airport security screening, all liquids, aerosols and gels must be in containers of 100ml or less and placed in a clear, 1L resealable bag. You will be asked to place the bag in a bin to be scanned.

Did You Know? As part of the security screening process, all passengers are required to pass through the walk-through metal detector or the full-body scanner. If an alarm is triggered, screening officers are required to ensure it is resolved before allowing you through the security checkpoint. To minimize your chances of setting off an alarm, you can:
• Limit jewellery;
• Wear clothes without snaps, metal buttons or studs;
• Wear shoes without metal arches, buckles or steel-toes; and
• Avoid belts with large metal buckles.

Soon-to-be travellers often turn to social media to ask if certain products are permitted through security screening. Over the next few weeks, we’ll share answers to a few of the most common questions.
🔎 The first question comes in from Rupert:
❔ Question: I’ll be travelling soon and wanted to know if I can bring my CPAP machine in my carry-on?
🖊️ Answer: Not a problem. CPAP devices are permitted through the security screening checkpoint. You will be asked to unpack the main unit from its carrying case and place it in a bin for inspection. We recommend bringing a clear plastic bag to place the main unit in when you do this to provide a layer of protection. Tubes and masks can stay in the carrying case.
The distilled water needed to operate a CPAP device is exempt from the 100 ml liquid restriction.

❔ Question: I returned from a trip recently and found a checked baggage notification card in my luggage. An item was removed from my luggage and I’m hoping to get it back, what should I do?
📝 Answer: Great question Antonio. All luggage, whether it’s carry-on or checked, undergoes X-ray screening before being permitted on a flight. If the X-ray shows something requiring further inspection, a physical search will be conducted. If it’s a checked bag, a “Notification of Checked Baggage Inspection” card is inserted in your bag. If the card specifies that an item was removed, please follow the directions on the card regarding who to call.
Before leaving on your trip, we recommend that you check our website to ensure all items you plan to take are permitted and whether they should be placed in your checked or carry-on baggage.
