So, I drew this a few years back, when I was a bit naive about things such as paper weight. I used ink and water and it warped the paper, which was pretty frustrating. It also made it hard to take a good picture so I never posted it before now. Today I decided to post it anyway, because I do really like the way it turned out. It's called 'The Rat King'.

I have some great news to announce everyone! I just confirmed my participation in the last art battle Ottawa for this year! It takes place on the 30th of May, I'll post a link on my page in the next few days. If you would like to see me compete against some of the nation's capitals finest artists come grab a drink and cheer us on!

I finally finished this piece, a baroque style study of my beloved Mushi. This piece was completed using acrylic on cradled 12×16 primed masonite which I cut and assembled by hand. This is my new favorite piece!

My first Art Battle Ottawa was an amazing opportunity to meet some incredible artists. I was truly honored to get a chance to paint in the presence of such talent. I learned so much from this night and though I didn't win my round, it was a close vote, and I was fortunate enough to be able to buy the night's winning piece.. Oh, and to boot, my painting sold at the silent auction! :) Overall, it was the most fun I've had in a while!

It's official! I'm going to compete at Art Battle Ottawa on the 26th of March! It's a live painting event which starts at 7pm. Come grab a drink and watch me compete against some amazing artists at Arts Court! I'll be posting the details soon!
