Today, September 30th, Goderich Tourism reflects on our journey of Truth and Reconciliation in Canada and celebrates those who keep our Native Land. Today is a day in which we give thanks for the gifts our home brings us and the people who are the stewards of this land.

The Town of Goderich has the privilege of being within the Traditional Territory of the Attawandaron and Ojibway peoples. This land is covered by Treaty 29 of 1827, and in the lands protected by the Dish With One Spoon agreement.

We recognize that Indigenous peoples have been using and caring for this land since time immemorial. We are grateful for their past and ongoing stewardship of the lands and waters, and wish to show them our respect today.

The people of Goderich are committed to addressing the historic and present injustices of colonialism. We acknowledge Indigenous peoples must be included and consulted on matters that impact their lands and waters, and strive to build strong relationships grounded on collaboration, respect, and trust.

Walkabout Blues - Downtown Shuffle - 11 Venues, 11 Bands from 7:30PM - 11:30PM. If you don't have a wristband, they are available at the main festival tent, they are not available at the venues

We're excited to be partnering with Danny Granger Art for an art project and he is going to be showcasing his art at the Goderich Salt & Harvest Festival Salted Market and the Compass Minerals Concert with Dwayne Gretzky. We will also be selling magnets and buttons of the art in this video at the festival!!!

The official kick-off to the festival will welcome and pay tribute to the founding family of our salt heritage, as well as welcome local dignitaries to commemorate the event!

PLUS!
Start the weekend off with the Royal LePage EDM DJ night - It will be a dance party on the square from 8PM - Midnight! Tickets are $10 and music is by JCMBL & Friends. The Salty Basin Bar will be open but this night is for ALL AGES.

We have so many "Salted" Experiences during the Goderich Salt & Harvest Festival!!!

SALTED SPEAKER SERIES @ THE LIVERY THEATRE
New this year to the Salt & Harvest Festival is the Salted Speaker Series, sponsored by The Livery Theatre and made possible by the Supporting Local Economical Development (SLED) program, offered by the County of Huron.

The Salty Basin Beer Garden is BACK this August 30th, 31st & September 1st at the Goderich Salt & Harvest Festival. That is right friends, an outdoor tent with a variety of drinks for three days!!! Entry is free, except during the Friday & Sunday concerts. Located at Courthouse Park, Friday, August 30th from 8pm to Midnight, Saturday, August 31st from Noon to 5:30pm and Sunday, September 1st from Noon to Midnight. $7 per drink. Local beer and cider, domestic beer and coolers

Salt Walk, Virtual Reality, Above Ground Salt Experience, Mine Rescue Demonstrations, Salted Market, Salt History Bus Tours and Harbor Tours, plus head on over to the Huron County Museum and watch the salt industry film.

We aren't just celebrating Salt & Music this weekend, we're also celebrating the Harvest! Royal LePage Heartland Realty came to us last year wanting to put on a harvest festival, so we thought it made so much sense to work together since salt is harvested too!

We're starting off with the EDM (it means electronic dance music and you can request whatever you would like to hear) Tickets are $10 and music is by JCMBL & Friends. It will be a dance party on the square from 8PM – Midnight. The Salty Basin Bar will be open but this night is for ALL AGES.

During both Saturday and Sunday on the Square we have the Downtown Goderich markets, wagon rides, family photo booth, food truck village, inflatables, petting zoo and car show!

Starting the evening of Friday, August 30 we will be selling Salted Merchandise at our outdoor festival store which will be located near the south street area in courthouse park on the square and will open at 7pm and will be open Saturday 10AM-5PM and Sunday 10AM-11PM.

One of the Festival favorites from last year was the Lit Salted History Walk.

We’ve brought this event back but in a new location this year, running August 30 to September 2! Working with the Menesetung Bridge Association and the Maitland Trail Association, the Menesetung Bridge will be lit up with 300 solar lights from dusk till dawn (or however long the solar lights last)!

Learn more about Huron County’s salted past as you stroll across the Menesetung Bridge and return in the evening to enjoy what will be a magical walk across the Maitland River.

This event is FREE to all who wish to participate and will certainly be a show-stopper in the evenings!
