Happy Friday! ☀️💙

For today, I’m keeping it simple and giving you a room tour of my AmaWaterways cabin! 🚢✨

During my Seine River cruise, I stayed in Cabin 105, located on the bottom deck of the ship. This room has fixed windows, rather than a French balcony.

Most of the cabins on the AmaLyra have French balconies, so I wanted to show you what one of the lower-deck rooms actually looks like and give you an idea of the space.

I’ll be sharing my full AmaWaterways review next week, including my thoughts on the ship, the service, food, excursions, entertainment and overall experience. So if you’re considering a river cruise with AmaWaterways, make sure you follow along! 💙

For now, grab a coffee ☕ and come take a peek inside my cabin! 👀

Hotel Review: ibis Styles Paris Eiffel Cambronne 🇫🇷🏨

Our first hotel of the trip was the ibis Styles Paris Eiffel Cambronne, and I booked this one for my clients who wanted something budget-friendly, clean, and close to the attractions.

When we first arrived, I have to admit I was a little nervous. 😂 The sign outside and the lobby were TINY, and the rooms are definitely on the smaller side too. There’s a small space to hang a few things and one little shelf in the bathroom, so don’t expect a lot of storage or extra space.

Room options include 1 twin bed (1 person), 1 double bed (2 people), 2 twin beds (2 people), and a few rooms with 3 twin beds (3 people).

We had 5 rooms, and 4 of them had very deep bathtubs. Even I found getting in and out a bit challenging! Their website showed walk-in showers, so I wasn’t expecting most of the rooms to have tubs.

That said, the beds were comfortable, the rooms were clean, and breakfast was included—and WOW, what a great breakfast to start our busy days! 🥐☕️ They had cheeses, yogurt, granola, breads, pastries, eggs, pancakes, coffee, tea, juices AND freshly squeezed orange juice. 🍊

The location was fantastic! A Metro station was right outside our door, there were several restaurants nearby, and the Eiffel Tower was only about a 20-minute walk away. 🗼

Overall, our stay was just fine, and I would stay here again when visiting Paris.

Would I recommend it to my clients? That depends. If you’re looking for a place to sleep, a great location, breakfast, and a budget-friendly price without needing lots of extra amenities, this could be a great choice. If you want a spacious room with lots of hotel amenities, I’d look elsewhere.

For the right traveller, this hotel offers great value for Paris! ❤️🇫🇷

Here is my room tour to give you an idea on what to expect.

I’m officially home from an incredible adventure, and while I have SO many stories, photos, tips and reviews to share with you, today I’m pressing pause. 🥰

I’ll be back tomorrow and will have plenty of reviews and travel content coming your way for the rest of the week. ✈️🌍

For today, though… I’m taking the day off, soaking up some time with my family, and enjoying being home. 🏡💕

Thank you for following along on my European adventure! I hope you’ve enjoyed coming along for the ride as much as I enjoyed sharing it with you. 🇫🇷🇬🇧✨

Day 15… our FINAL day in London! 🇬🇧❤️

Well… today definitely didn’t go as planned! 😂 Traffic was absolutely horrific, and we missed BOTH of our walking tours. The Royal Walk was at 10 AM, and we missed it by just 15 minutes!

But honestly, missing it turned into a pretty great morning anyway. We walked through beautiful St. James’s Park toward Buckingham Palace. The park was gorgeous! The grass has definitely suffered from the drought, but the water, gardens, weeping willows, swans, ducks and all the other birds made up for it. 🦢🦆🌳

And the squirrels! 🐿️ They are SO tame here. I chirped at one and it actually came running right up to me! I’m pretty sure if I’d had a treat, it would have eaten right out of my hand. 😂

Buckingham Palace was an absolute MADHOUSE. The number of people was insane, so we didn’t stay long before heading through Green Park and into Hyde Park. From there, we walked all the way to Kensington Gardens and even caught a glimpse of Kensington Palace. 👑

Unfortunately, all that walking meant we couldn’t make it to our Harry Potter Tour in time. But that’s okay—sometimes you just have to roll with it! 🪄

We eventually hopped back on the Big Bus, got off at Trafalgar Square and stopped for supper at The Old Shades. I had a burger and fries, while Mom had fish and chips. Both were really good, but Mom’s fish was definitely the star! 😋 We also tried a local Camden ale, which was a nice, light beer.

After supper, we grabbed a few souvenirs and headed back to the hotel to pack. Our Uber was arriving at 6 AM, so it was an early night!

And just like that… our London adventure is over. 🇬🇧✨ What an incredible few weeks this has been!

Day 14… Exploring London! 🇬🇧❤️

Today was all about seeing as much of London as possible! We have a 2-day Big Bus Hop-On Hop-Off ticket, which also includes 3 walking tours, a night tour, and a cruise on the River Thames—so we definitely made the most of it! 🚌👣🚢

We spent most of the day exploring London from the top of the Big Bus, taking in the sights without actually getting off at any stops. We passed by Trafalgar Square, London Bridge, Tower Bridge, and so many other incredible landmarks. There is just SO much to see in this city!

The one exception was our Jack the Ripper walking tour, which was fascinating and incredibly informative. If you're interested in true crime, this tour is definitely worth doing! Our guide, Emma, was excellent and really brought the history to life. 🕵️‍♀️🔪

We also took our River Thames cruise during the day, giving us a completely different perspective of London. Seeing the city and its famous landmarks from the water was absolutely beautiful! 🚢🇬🇧

By dinner time, we were definitely ready for some food! We ate at a lovely Italian restaurant called The Strings, and WOW… the food was delicious! I had the best calamari I have ever had, and the ravioli with pesto was fantastic. The ravioli with truffle oil was delicious too! 😋🍝

And of course, I had to try a limoncello spritzer. 🍋🥂 It was delicious and so refreshing!

We finished our day with the London night tour, seeing the city all lit up after dark. ✨🌃

One of the things on my bucket list has always been seeing Big Ben, and today I saw it MULTIPLE times! ❤️

But did you know Big Ben isn't actually the tower? Big Ben is the nickname for the Great Bell inside the tower. The tower itself is called Elizabeth Tower. So technically, you don't actually see Big Ben—you see Elizabeth Tower! 🤯

After a LONG day of sightseeing, it's finally time for bed. Tomorrow… more London adventures! 🇬🇧❤️

Day 13… London, here we come! 🇫🇷➡️🇬🇧🚆

Today was a travel day, and sadly, it was time to leave Paris. 😢 But before we headed out, I finally got to visit Carton Paris! I can absolutely see why they win awards… everything was SO delicious! 🥐❤️

Even better, I got to have breakfast with a dear friend I haven’t seen since 2018, when I left BC. It was so wonderful to reconnect, even if it was just for a little while. ❤️

Then it was off to the Eurostar and London! 🚆 We got to experience the Channel Tunnel (Chunnel)… although there isn’t exactly much scenery to enjoy through there! 😂

Once we arrived in London, we grabbed a Bolt to our hotel, checked in, and I managed to squeeze in a little nap before getting ready for a very special evening.

🎭 PHANTOM OF THE OPERA! 🎭

We took the Tube to the theatre, which was about a 13-minute walk from our hotel. It was my mom’s first time on the London Underground and only my second time ever on a subway (my first was in Paris)! 🚇

And WOW… the show was AMAZING! 🤩

The Phantom of the Opera is the iconic musical about a mysterious, masked figure who lives beneath the Paris Opera House and becomes obsessed with a young soprano named Christine. It’s filled with incredible music, romance, drama and, of course, the unforgettable Phantom! 🎶👻

I would HIGHLY recommend seeing it if you get the chance!

We even dressed up for the occasion… only to discover that most people were wearing shorts, jeans and T-shirts! 😂 Oh well—we looked fancy! And just a heads-up: no photos are allowed once the show begins.

After the show, we hopped on a bus that dropped us about 8 minutes from our hotel. And then Mom picked out her Christmas present… 🎁

Good luck, Mother!!! 😂😂

What a GREAT night! ❤️🇬🇧🎭

A little London hotel room tour! 🇬🇧🏨

I’ll still be posting my hotel room tours for the other two hotels we stayed at in Paris, plus my room on AmaWaterways, but since I have a few moments before heading out to His Majesty’s Theatre for The Phantom of the Opera 🎭, I thought I’d get this one done!

We’re staying at the Residence Inn by Marriott London Kensington, and so far, I think it’s going to be a great location for what we need. I’ll report back on the location and overall experience later once we’ve had more time here.

But I do want to point something out from the room tour. After filming, I noticed quite a bit of wear and tear, including several cracks in the ceramic bathroom floor. 😬

So, if you’re someone who is very particular about the condition and appearance of a hotel, this may not be the hotel for you. It’s definitely something I think is worth knowing before booking.

That said, I’m going to give it a fair chance and see how the rest of our stay goes! ❤️

Now… it’s time for Phantom of the Opera! 🎭✨

Day 12… and our LAST day at Disneyland Paris! 🏰✨

What a fun day! The parks were BUSY, but we still managed to accomplish everything we wanted! 🙌

I was on my own for the morning, so I took my time exploring Disney Adventure World. First up were Ratatouille: The Adventure and Cars ROAD TRIP. 🚗🐭

I was crushed to see Crush’s Coaster had an over-an-hour wait ALL morning! 😭 So, I headed over to Disneyland Park.

I started with Le Passage Enchanté d’Aladdin, then Fantasyland for Blanche-Neige et les Sept Nains, “it’s a small world” and Le Pays des Contes de Fées. I grabbed a quick bite too… but honestly, the food here just isn’t worth mentioning. 😂

Around 1:00, my friend joined me and we continued with Les Voyages de Pinocchio, Alice’s Curious Labyrinth and Casey Jr. 🎠🐇 After some pictures and shopping, we headed back to Disney Adventure World.

First stop? The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror! 👻 This is the ONLY ride I’ve done here that Walt Disney World also has where I think the Paris version is better! The lady beside me apparently agreed because she grabbed my arm AND my hand during the ride. 😂😂

Then came the ride I refused to leave without doing… Crush’s Coaster! 🐢💙 The wait wouldn’t come down, so we bought a Disney Premier Access pass for €21. Steep? YES. But I didn’t want to miss it—and it did NOT disappoint! Totally worth it to me! 🙌

Next was Spider-Man W.E.B. Adventure, and WOW! 🕷️ My score was 180,600, the 2nd highest in my row! 💪 Single Rider was only about 15 minutes versus over an hour in the regular line.

At that point, we had done EVERYTHING we wanted! 🎉

We grabbed some food and relaxed by the pond while waiting for Disney Cascade of Lights. The HUGE koi were pretty cool to watch! 🐟

And the show? Definitely worth the wait! The drones, lights and projections were spectacular! ✨🎆

Then it was back to the hotel for some much-needed rest.

Goodbye, Disneyland Paris! 🏰❤️ What an adventure!

Day 11 — From the AmaLyra to Disneyland Paris! 🏰✨

Today was a little bittersweet as we said goodbye to the AmaLyra. 😢 After an amazing week of being spoiled, exploring beautiful places and waking up to gorgeous scenery, it was definitely hard to leave. But I was SUPER excited because we were headed to Disneyland Paris! And it did NOT disappoint! 🥰✨

We packed A LOT into today and knocked out so many of the big hitters! We rode Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Phantom Manor, Pirates of the Caribbean, Avengers Assemble: Flight Force, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Peril, Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain and Star Tours, plus explored Les Mystères du Nautilus. 🚀🏴‍☠️🎢

We even took a stroll through Arendelle, which was absolutely beautiful! ❄️💙

For lunch, we ate at PYM Kitchen in Avengers Campus. The food was good, but I have to admit… I find the overall food quality at Disneyland Paris just isn’t quite at the level of Walt Disney World. Maybe I’ve been spoiled! 😂

We ended the night watching Disney Tales of Magic, and WOW! ✨ What a way to finish an incredible day!

We’re staying at Moxy Val d’Europe, which has been super convenient. It’s an easy trip to Disneyland Paris using the RER, making getting back and forth really simple.

And now… BED! 🛏️😂

My friend calculated her steps today and hit 30,000 steps! 😳 I wasn’t with her the entire time, but I know I was right there putting in the miles too. My feet are definitely reminding me of that tonight! 😂

From river cruising to Disney magic… Day 11 was one for the books! ❤️🏰✨

Day 10 — Our Final Day with AmaWaterways ❤️🚢

And just like that… our last day with AmaWaterways has arrived. 😭 I honestly don’t know how I’m going to handle not being waited on anymore! 😂 After 7 amazing days on the AmaLyra with delicious food, incredible service, beautiful scenery and having someone else worry about all the details, reality is going to be a little rough!

This morning, we headed out for a tour of Château de Malmaison, the former home of Napoleon Bonaparte and Josephine Bonaparte. This quickly became one of my favourite stops of the entire trip! ❤️ We learned so much about Napoleon and Josephine, their lives, their relationship and the history of this beautiful château. There was something really special about being able to walk through the rooms and imagine the lives that were lived here.

And I have to give a huge shout-out to our tour guide! She was absolutely amazing. Her knowledge, stories and passion brought everything to life and made the experience even more memorable. Definitely one of those tours that I’ll be talking about long after this trip is over!

After lunch, we had one more adventure waiting for us — a Seine River cruise aboard the Bateaux Parisiens. What a beautiful way to finish our time in Paris! We cruised past so many incredible landmarks while enjoying one last look at this amazing city from the water. 🇫🇷✨

It was definitely a busy day, but I enjoyed every single moment.

As our AmaWaterways journey comes to an end, I’m reminded once again why I love river cruising so much. ❤️ It’s such a wonderful way to see multiple cities, towns and villages without constantly packing and unpacking. You wake up somewhere new, explore all day, come back to the ship, enjoy incredible food and service, and then wake up somewhere else the next morning.

What more could you ask for?

Thank you, AmaWaterways, for another unforgettable adventure. Until next time… I’m not ready to say goodbye! 🥹❤️🚢
