What an incredible birding adventure in Costa Rica!

From Resplendent Quetzals in the Talamanca Highlands to Snowy Cotingas, colourful tanagers, and rare Yellow-eared Toucanets in the tropical rainforests, our tour was filled with fantastic sightings!

One of the biggest highlights was witnessing an estimated 20,000 migrating raptors in less than an hour along the Caribbean coast!

We also enjoyed memorable encounters with sloths, poison dart frogs, snakes, and even a Jaguarundi chasing an Agouti.

Southern Peru: From the Amazon to the Andes! 🦜

From the Pacific coast to the Amazon rainforest and the spectacular Andes, our Southern Peru birding tour was filled with incredible birds, wildlife and unforgettable experiences!

Highlights included more than 300 macaws taking flight at an Amazon clay lick, colourful tanagers, dazzling hummingbirds, elusive antpittas and displaying Andean Cocks-of-the-Rock. We also enjoyed remarkable encounters with Giant River Otters, Brazilian Tapirs and other Amazonian wildlife.

Along the way, we explored the ancient Inca city of Machu Picchu, travelled through the beautiful Sacred Valley and enjoyed exceptional birding along the legendary Manu Road.

From saguaro-studded desert to cool mountain forests, Southeast Arizona offers some of the most exciting birding in North America! 🌵🐦

Our recent Southeast Arizona: The Sky Islands birding tour explored the region’s legendary Sky Islands, turning up a fantastic collection of southwestern specialties along the way. Highlights included Coppery-tailed Trogon, Montezuma Quail, White-eared Hummingbird, Flame-colored Tanager, Rose-throated Becard, Whiskered Screech-Owl, and an impressive showing of Mexican Chickadees in the Chiricahua Mountains.

With colourful hummingbirds, tanagers, sparrows, and flycatchers around nearly every corner—and a final Vermilion Flycatcher appearing right outside the restaurant window—it was a memorable Arizona birding adventure from start to finish!

Our two late-summer BC Coast & Pelagic tours delivered fantastic seabirds, shorebirds, coastal scenery, and marine wildlife — with each departure producing its own unforgettable offshore highlight.

On our first tour, the group enjoyed an extraordinary albatross trifecta at Clayoquot Canyon: Black-footed, Laysan, and Short-tailed Albatrosses. Even more remarkable, two Short-tailed Albatrosses appeared together, offering prolonged views of this rare visitor to BC waters.

The second tour produced a very different rarity — a pair of Scripps’s Murrelets off Tofino, an exceptional species in Canadian waters and a lifer for almost everyone aboard! Other highlights included Tufted Puffin, Buller’s Shearwater, Humpback Whales, Dall’s Porpoises, and an Elephant Seal.

Across both tours, we also enjoyed Pink-footed Shearwaters, Fork-tailed Storm-Petrels, South Polar Skua, Sabine’s Gulls, Arctic Terns, Marbled Murrelets, Rhinoceros Auklets, Black Oystercatchers, Wandering Tattlers, and plenty of migrating shorebirds while exploring Tofino, Ucluelet, Pacific Rim National Park, Cathedral Grove, and the Fraser Delta.

We’re excited to bring back our Central California: Yosemite to Monterey birding tour!

From sagebrush country and the high Sierra to oak woodlands, coast redwoods, estuaries and the Pacific Ocean, this tour showcases an incredible range of California habitats.

We’ll explore iconic landscapes including Mono Lake and Yosemite National Park while searching for distinctive western and California specialties such as Yellow-billed Magpie, California Thrasher, California Towhee, Wrentit and Oak Titmouse. Fall migration was in full swing on our recent Nova Scotia birding tour!

From the Annapolis Valley and Bay of Fundy to Brier Island, Cape Sable Island and the South Shore, the group recorded 144 species. Highlights included Atlantic Puffins, shearwaters, storm-petrels, seven South Polar Skuas, Long-tailed Jaeger, Buff-breasted Sandpiper, Boreal Chickadees and Canada Jays—not to mention memorable encounters with Humpback Whales.

This was also a Birds Canada Supporters Tour, with proceeds helping support conservation work for birds and their habitats across Canada.
