Happy spring! I hope everyone is fairing well in these weird times. The good news is that plants don't know there's a pandemic, we can still go out in our yards and gardens and landscaping businesses are now allowed to operate! If you need a little help getting your outdoor space in shape, let me know!

It's the time of year when the first wild spring flowers are starting to show- so excited to see hepatica, bloodroot and others, it means spring has arrived! These are great for shady spots in your garden- ask for more suggestions!

So what faired the drought the best? Native drought tolerant plants mostly! Everybody loves purple coneflower (epecially the chickadees), and now you just have one more reason! Ask for other plant suggestions for dry conditions!

Happy spring! I am spending lots of time in gardens and not very much on facebook... best to reach me by phone or e-mail. Hope you are enjoying watching things growing as much as I am!

Although it might not seem like it much this week, gardening season is coming up fast! YAY! If you are less enthusiastic than I about the work that needs to be done in your gardens, then give me a call or send an e-mail- I'm booking up fast so don't delay!

This week was the end of the gardening season! Thank you so much to all my clients, those who referred them to me and all the support from Rob! This second season was even better than I hoped. I am looking forward to a bit of rest and then a great spring!

The dirt will no longer come out from under my fingernails and I couldn't be happier! Gardening season is in full swing! This time of year, my favourite native plant has to be the violets. They are everywhere and so sweet- purple, mauve, white and even yellow! They are very hardy, too, growing in a variety of conditions (including lawns!). Consider giving them a space in your garden- I have!

It may be coming slowly, but spring is coming... from under the snow and frozen soil, signs are starting to appear!

It's the time of year that milkweed is blooming! Look around- you can see common milkweed on roadsides everywhere with big pink flowers. It is the host plant of the threatened monarch butterfly- so make sure you leave space in your garden or property for this native plant! There is also the even more gorgeous swamp milkweed (pictured here) that the monarch uses too and makes a great garden plant!
