Okay. Unico 2087. Early take.

First: it's stylish in a way that doesn't feel try-hard. You know how some "design hotels" are clearly more interested in the aesthetic than the guest? This isn't that.

Second: the whole concept of having a dedicated "Anfitrión" (your personal host for the whole stay) is either going to change your life or make you feel like you have a shadow. I'll update you on which one it is for me.

Third: the vibe here versus Secrets Playa Blanca is COMPLETELY different. Different clientele. Different energy. Different purpose. Neither is better…they just serve different people.

Checking out of Secrets Playa Blanca and here's my real verdict:

Would I recommend it? Yes, with conditions. (There are always conditions. Anyone who says "it's perfect for everyone!" is lying to you.)

Who it's perfect for: Couples and groups who want to decompress. People who've done the big party resorts and want something more grown. Anyone who needs gorgeous and easy without being chaotic.

Who should look elsewhere: Anyone who gets fidgety after 2 beach days. Budget travelers, this is a splurge and it needs to be worth it to you.

The thing that genuinely surprised me:

✔️How uncrowded it felt for a 509-suite resort. Pool chairs were actually available.
✔️The food quality. For an all-inclusive, it genuinely delivered across multiple restaurants.
✔️How new and pristine everything felt. You can tell this property is only a couple of years old.

The thing I'd warn clients about:

📣It’s secluded. Beautiful, but you’re not walking to a town or local beach. Plan for that.
📣Pool seating fills up fast in peak season. Get out early if you want a prime spot.
📣The Preferred Club upgrade adds cost, but for many clients it’s the difference between a good trip and a great one. Worth the conversation upfront.

Lots of years doing this and I still learn something new every trip. That's why I go. That's why it matters.

📍Secrets Playa Blanca. Day 2 of seeing if this adults-only all-inclusive actually lives up to the hype.

The good: The food is far from your typical all-inclusive fare. Fresh, flavorful and YUMMY options with real variety.

The “hm”: The resort is beautiful, but quieter than I expected. Great if you want low-key relaxation… maybe not the spot if you’re looking for a lively social vibe all day and night.

The genuinely unexpected: how insanely clean, well-kept, and aesthetic everything feels here. One of those resorts that makes you start wondering what it would cost to never leave.
