🚨 Travel Update – Lisbon Airport Delays

Due to ongoing renovations at the Humberto Delgado Airport (LIS) aimed at improving capacity and the full implementation of the Entry/Exit System (EES), passengers should expect long lines and delays, especially during peak travel hours.

✈️ What is EES?

The Entry/Exit System (EES) is an automated registration system for travellers from countries outside the European Union or the Schengen area. Travelers must register through this system upon arrival at the external border of any of the 29 Schengen countries.

✅ Travel tips:

• Arrive at least 3 hours before your schedule departure and allow for extra time for arrival procedures
• Security screening can take longer than expected and delays at customs may cause you to miss your flight
• Canadian citizens may use e-gates for faster passport control, unless travelling with children, in which case the regular passport control line must be used
• Download and pre-register with the Travel to Europe mobile application up to 72 hours prior to entering or leaving the EU.
